There's a show on Faux News right now and two dumbfucks are saying that Obama is building a wall around his new house and the two idiots (one is Watters) are going on about what a hypocrite Obama is.

I'm getting sick of these political pundits twats coming up with these off the wall ideas. The worst part is that a lot of people say, 'uh... yeah he's right. Obama is building a wall so he is a hypocritical lying Kenyan Muslim'.

Watters is a sarcastic and funny person when he does his Man on the Street shtick but he's a complete ass and his IQ drops substantially when he discusses politics.

Although I have a number of health/personal growth goals in mind for this year, the only real New Year's resolution I made was to quit Facebook and TV news/politics. Facebook because while I love keeping up with friends, I had too many anxiety-inducing political posts clogging my feed - I was beginning to wish for more baby pics! TV news/politics because I'm sick to death of the kind of crap described in the OP, etc.

I don't know if I'll make this a long term thing, but after just a week of unplugging this way I feel 100% better in terms of anxiety/stress levels - so I might. There is something to be said for taking the position that my participation isn't required for whatever shit show is happening in the world around me.

I haven't given up on caring; in addition to my wage earning work with dementia/hospice patients, I'm starting this coming week with weekly volunteering at the Episcopal soup kitchen, and am looking into local opportunities to volunteer with refugees, teaching English.

Mostly though, I'm going to spend time with my niece this year, as much as possible. I can't recall all the politics that were going on in my childhood, but I do recall vividly the special times with grandma and aunties - so I want to make more of those memories for her.

That was my reaction...

I haven't noticed that his IQ level is markedly lower when he discusses politics then when he discusses just about anything else...(philosophy, economics, religion, history, etc.)

It's all pretty much consistently the same extraordinarily low level...

Is there anyone on the left and in the public eye that is claiming that building a wall or walls is racist? Where does the reference come from; does it come from Obama?

For them to be resolutions for me would mean I would have had to been on facebook and watch TV.

But Vikings is back on and the last season of DD is on so I do indulge one night a week after my meeting of course.

Good on you BSG with the volunteering and stuff.

I haven't given up boob tube entertainment, just the live broadcast stuff. Still watch lots of shows commercial free on my Kindle Fire, including my current obsession, a little show called Game of Thrones.

You know what the real problem is, Vikings and DD are on at the same time. I went to find a new tape (beta of course, much better quality) to put in the vcr, but someone stole my tapes and vcr?!?!?!? (they always steal the best)

I almost had to learn about that DVD button on the remote but luckily they re-run the vikings episode an hour after the newest episode AND they rerun the previous episode before airing the new episode.

Pretty soon I bet you'll be able to watch TV shows on your phone? (yours maybe, certainly not my phone).

I do appreciate some technology though. Like the remote control. Since the kids have flew the nest, I don't have them around to get up and change the channels for me.
