WTF is meant by "bang biscuit"?  She's got a nice-looking biscuit and he'd like to bang it?

Wes, you are the end result of 3.8 billion years of evolutionary successes.
Try to act like it.

I thought it was hilarious the way they managed to pack all of the black and Latino people who showed up into the small space directly behind the lectern.... :D

While Obama and Trump obviously have many differences, one thing that they do seem to have in common is that they'd both much rather run off for rallies in front of their adoring peeps than roll up their sleeves and get involved in the unglamorous nitty gritty of the legislation crafting process...

I didn't watch the whole speech, (too many other worthwhile things to do) but I caught a few minutes of it that did tend to validate wes's claim that if you don't watch the speech itself, and only rely on media clips, you don't get the whole picture...

In the part I saw, Trump was puzzling over why there needed to be two official Air Force One planes, and promising to "look into it"...

In all the coverage and analysis of the speech I've watched this morning, I haven't seen one single comment or report about that...

So if I hadn't seen that part of the speech live myself, I'd have no idea that we have a President Of The United States who can't figure out why there would be any need to have 2 Air Force One planes...

The mainstream media must be trying to cover this up... :?

Maybe someone should ask him why he has more than one golf course, or hotel, or car.

Admittedly, I couldn't sit still for the full vid so I went down the line grabbing snippets along the way. For me it would be near impossible to watch in its entirety. Each "sound bite" viewed was more bombastic and more repetitive than the last one.

It's Trump being Trump. Only a committed sycophant could find any salvation in the words of (Gulp!) my president. What a droning, pompous asshole he is. I can only pray that Congress will quickly see through Lord Dampnut's thin veneer and start following through with the many investigations that pop up on an almost daily basis. This, too, shall pass... but not soon enough.

Oh, and God bless America... nothing else will at this point.

I caught some of this when I unfortunately turned the TV on hoping for news.

Trump's people were saying 50k in the crowd, but the local police said 9k. There was a Craigslist advert offering 'swag' and cash to attendees.

Is this insanity confined to a rabid few, or are we seeing the rise of the end of our republic?

Jim--isn't Air Force One whatever air force plane the president is on (as opposed to, e.g., Marine One)? As such there any number of potential Air Force One planes, but only one at a time, but this would tax the brain power of the little Donald that couldn't.

But the press just wants to cover this up.

There are actually two Boeing 747-200B series aircraft (USAF designation is VC-25A), bearing tail numbers 28000 and 29000, that have been all gussied up to convey the President — and it's one of these that the public generally envisions when the term "Air Force One" is thrown around.  One is generally the workhorse; the other is held in reserve.  The aircraft are based at Andrews AFB and are maintained and operated by the Presidential Airlift Group (89th Airlift Wing), part of the White House Military Office.

And you might be interested in knowing that the current aircraft were delivered in the 1990s and put into service during the administration of President George H. W. Bush — so Donny-boy is flying on aircraft that have already put in more than 20 years of service.  Like most spoiled little kids with their toys, he probably wants a new one .... one of the 787 'Dreamliners', more than likely.

That's interesting -- where did you read this? It sound like something you'd find if you checked Wikipedia.

The bulk of it came from here .... https://www.whitehouse.gov/1600/air-force-one ... and the info about the 89th Airlift Wing came from here ... http://www.jba.af.mil/About-Us/Fact-She ... rlift-wing.  I just put it into my own words.

The fact that Wikipedia also has many of the same facts merely means whoever wrote the Wikipedia entry knew what he/she was talking about.

Yes, that's exactly why I put a link to Wiki under the photo of "Hair Farce One." I thought that kind of said it all.

No, I believe you. It's my writing style. I do not write prose nor short stories in these forums like many are wont to do. I like to carry terseness to an extreme which frequently creates obscurity, allowing the reader to regard me as a less credible, court jester.

A good analogy might be that many in here see themselves as Leo Tolstoy; I see myself as David Letterman. I create a premise, deliver the punchline, and I'm usually off to another subject. Often saying much more... for much less.

If you're arguing that Letterman is a finer student of human nature than Tolstoy, I call BS. And furthermore, many of us have the capacity to truly enjoy the meatiness of fine literature, even if many have too short-attention-spans to cope.

Thank goodness we don't yet live in a true idiocracy.
