Check out the remarks of Irish Prime Minister Edna Enda Kenny at the White House last night (skip to 10:30 so you don't have to listen to Pence & Trump):

Epic!

I was going to post about this...

The clip is worth watching just for the uncomfortable expressions on The Orange Leader's face alone... :D

Nicely done Mr. Prime Minister...

Is he uncomfortable or does he just look bored?

I have to wonder if the subtext went right over his head.

How the hell could you see much of anything with all those assholes holding up their smartphones trying to take pictures and making videos of the thing?  And since this was a YouTube video, it was probably taken and uploaded by another one of these jerks.

About the only good thing I can see coming from this trend to view the world through a 4-inch screen is that if anything happens to Trump (think the Kennedy assassination or the attempt on Reagan's life) is that we will have an embarrassment of video evidence and documentation and will no longer have to depend on one person (Zapruder) and his 8-mm movie camera being in the right place at the right time.

For anyone who doesn't care to sit through the whole thing, the portion we've been talking about starts a little after the 13 minute mark...

I know, I didn't catch the autocorrect my phone imposed. Mea culpa!

The video is from WH.gov and identical to the CSPAN video. Yes, people use smartphones to capture things these days - they used to use Polaroid or 110 or 35 mm cameras, whatever.

Who is the well known 70s actress who appears in this 60s commercial:

Video quality is shit, but is the brunette Ali MacGraw?

Is it Ali McGraw? It shows her face so fleetingly each time it is visible that it's hard to get a good look.

I had to check the spelling of her name, my first instinct was to make her Irish but I guess she's Scottish . . . although I gather that 'rule' doesn't always hold.

You both correctly guessed the ubiquitous in the 70s (but talentless and known for only one movie...and maybe one TV miniseries) Ali McGraw...

And here's Ali MacGraw -- NOW. Not too shabby for 77.

FYI: that Ali on the left.
