Watch carefully as they drain the swamp.

You will recall that there is a possibility that Trump’s ownership and operation of the Old Post Office Hotel in DC can charitably be called an unusual interpretation of the lease provisions, which state that no elected official of the govt can benefit therefrom. It turns out that a federal official in the GSA (i.e., someone who works for the president) has determined that as Trump has decided that he will put off trousering the profits until after he has left the WH, he cannot be in breach of said clause. WTF????

This unknown official is one Kevin Terry.

Where have I heard that name before? Luckily Mr Google has a better memory than I do. It turns out that Mr Terry shepherded the whole thing through GSA. Mr Terry also has a side job (and it is unclear if he told his bosses about this) as head of an Iowa company called Concorde Financial.

Of course anything is possible in Trump’s America. It is highly possible that this is all totally above board.

Of course it's above board...but the board is waterlogged and stuck in the mud beneath the swamp water.

I haven't read the decision yet, but I'm surprised/not surprised. Many legal experts who I know and respect believe the lease has been breached. The language is pretty clear. And I don't believe the trusts are the kind that are sufficient enough to keep the Trumpanzee from profiting. But I have to find the time to go read, before any further comment.
