Am keeping one eye on the Senate. WTF does Roberts do? He is supposed to be presiding, according to the Constitution but he is doing nothing but reading the questions like an overpaid clerk and saying 'as you like' every time McConnell wants a pee break.

Re: Bill Of Impeachment: Article I, Obstruction Of Justice
As an example, there was a question from one of the D Senators to the President's counsels:"When was the White House aware of the Bolton book and its possible contents?" (I'm paraphrasing.) This is somewhat relevant because there has been a move to cast the book as disclosing US secrets.
Characteristically the WH Counsel waffled. "I don't have the exact date. We heard about it." And then he proceeded to answer a question he had not been asked.
I would have expected a presiding judge to say: "WTF? OK you don't have the exact date in your head - can you nail it down to three or four days ago, or even sometime last week? I don't believe you have no fucking idea." Again I am paraphrasing the intervention I would expect from a presiding judge.

Good news for President Warren, or President Biden, or President Sanders, or...?
OOPS...the fine print says:

It's been beyond a joke for a long time now but I always thought that somehow it would all work out. Even given the current lack of understanding of climate science which is still the gravest threat to the planet, to the economy and to national security.
No more. The Republican defense is willing to bring down the temple around us all. It is almost exactly the Nixon thing: if the President does it, it's not illegal. To hear Alan Dershovitz (I'm so angry with that man I'm not even going to do him the elementary courtesy of looking up how to spell his fucking name) tell it, all politicians think they are god's chosen so acting like one is hardly grounds for impeachment.
I think that within ten years there is a very real chance that the country I grew up in will be torn asunder. Scotland will depart the Union which has lasted 300 years. There are young Republican turds, far smarter than Trump - and those of us who believe in the idea of a liberal democracy (and yes, wesx and Darren and Liberty - you do too even though you won't acknowledge it) had better be grateful for now that Trump really is as thick as we think he is - who have seen the green light to rip this country apart in their own interests and these fuckers have guns. I may become a second amendment advocate after all.

I am the last to praise Mittens Romney, but I endorse Larry Tribe’s tweet from yesterday, which says:
“Romney’s principled decision makes this the first bipartisan vote to convict and remove a president in American history. Even though it looks like 52 to acquit and 48 to remove, this is a landmark of ignominy for Trump.”
He took his oath, and his duty to defend the Constitution seriously, and for that I will always be grateful.
