The Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test

Trump took his physical last week and his doctor told us today that he passed the cognitive assessment portion.

What the president took was the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test (MCAT) which is freely available on the intertubes. I did this a few years ago (because I was concerned that the statins my doc had recommended to get my cholesterol down were slowing my brain down) and passed.

Take a look at the test. It's really a test to show major disability. IIRC a score of 26/30 = pass.

To give you an idea of the complexity of this test, one question is to start at 100 and count backwards subtracting 7 each time. I100, 93, 86, 79, 72 and so on. If you can get to 72 without a mistake you get all 3 points for that question. My doctor told me to stop when I got to 2 and was about to go to negative 5. If you can come up with 11 words beginning with F in one minute you get the one point for that question.

The MCAT is designed to find major cognitive deficits. I think Trump is a fucking idiot: but I would not expect him to fail this test.

Apparently his heart is very healthy despite a disgusting diet and zero exercise. Great genes, the doctor said - I bet that warmed the cockles of Trump’s white supremacist heart.

I’d be much sadder, but I know that lots of people given a clean bill of heart health go on to drop dead of massive MCI - absent extensive imaging of his arteries the doctor really can’t predict with any iron clad accuracy.

I wonder if Trump's MD was able to do anything about Trump's ongoing rectal/cranial inversion?

Easily dealt with. The doctor puts a tongue depressor up Trump's ass and tells him to say, "Aaaah" and sticks his finger in Trump's mouth to check his prostate.

Well, if Trump isn't suffering from dementia, that just leaves "straight-up evil bastard" as the explanation for his behavior...

When you've eliminated all other possibilities, that which remains has to be the correct one.

Even if he failed, could the doctor reveal it without his permission? And if he did, would it be to the VP and th cabinet and not the public? and might the doctor also say he passed to prevent the public from overreacting until the VP/cabinet decides how to deal with it?

Yeah...there goes the insanity defense, right?

I don't need the results of any test to know that Trump is a narcissistic racist misogynistic pathological liar. Besides, his lawyer probably took the test for him.

Nah I think he pleaded the fifth for most of the test.

Now the Guardian raises questions about other results from this physical exam. Is POTUS obese?

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/201 ... questioned

Just how tall is he? I have no questions about his weight. Places have posted pix of athletes with the same weight and they look very different.
The should. The same weight of fat is much bulkier than that weight in muscle. But have they fudged his height to get POTUS one pound under the current definition of obese?

On the MCA test. Sure we have data that show he has always been ignorant and of poor reasoning ability. That is not what the MCA measures. Just as we have lots of data indicating he has acted as a racist for at least 40 years.

No shit Sherlock!
"You will not apply my precept," he said, shaking his head. "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?

He does golf and there is a lot of walking in golf. According to this: http://www.insidegolf.com.au/news/how-f ... -18-holes/ 9.5 km Almost 6 miles.

And it is so stimulating to be out in nature:

That has to be worth a few Kcal.

You don't walk "almost 6 miles" when you're using a cart (and it's a given that the SCOTUS would use a cart... no doubt a very fancy, customized cart with gold trim, fine leather seats, GPS, and his name emblazoned all over it), no matter how the writer of this article tries to calculate it.  Seriously — counting the distance walked from the parking lot to the clubhouse?  I'm surprised he doesn't include the distance from the bedroom to the toilet at home when he woke up to go golfing too.

Trump of course uses a golf cart even when he is not playing golf. At the G7 for example.

Even using a cart the mileage is substantial. You should read the linked article.

See my edited post.
Note also that when he invites '1000 Australian golfers' to gather data for his 'World’s First smartphone study into the distance walked during a round of golf' he directs his research subjects to walk the course — "You will need to walk a round of 18 holes (No riding in a cart!)".
So which is it?  With or without the use of a 'buggy', as he calls it?

No, it’s not (responding to rubato’s claim that ‘even using a cart the mileage is substantial’).

I worked on a golf course; when you take a cart you walk a few feet at each tee and each green and at the places on the fairway where you have to address the ball. A person playing 18 with a cart doesn’t even walk a half mile in the totality of play. (The article you linked to specifically asserts that this is WALKING the course, not using a cart. Perhaps you’re confused by the mention of a ‘buggy’; that’s a wheeled golf club bag carrier that a walking golfer pushes or pulls around the course, while WALKING.)

I used to really admire the very few golfers who walked the course - they were fit, athletes. The great majority of middle aged and older cart golfers were out of shape and often drinking and smoking the whole course.

Trump is lying about his height and it’s a bit disgusting that the physician is complicit in the lie. Trump’s own driver license from 2012 listed his height as 6’2”. The photo of him standing next to Obama clearly shows he is only 6’1”. The only way he legimitely measured out as 6’3” is if he was in his shoes and they had lifts. My doctor makes me take off my shoes to be measured for height at my yearly physical; maybe this excellent naval physician doesn’t. NOBODY gets taller with age, only shorter.

Trump’s weight probably isn’t 239, either - but if it was, his BMI would be 31.5 and he’s clinically obese - just like many other Americans.

And yeah, a 239lb professional football player is gonna be solid like a rock, while a total non-athletic person will be much larger in girth because fat is bigger than muscle. That’s why when you start lifting weight or otherwise building muscle you lose lots of inches often without dropping that many numbers on the scale.

I’d bet Trump is 260+, though.
