So we're being lectured about idolatry by the people who brought us this:

Thought for a moment that was a screenshot from a remake of "The Ten Commandments" ...
but then I remembered that the Israelites were worshiping a golden calf, not a golden ass.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Taylor Swift probably earns $70,000 before she lets out her first fart of the morning.

.... Travis Kelce will receive a bonus check of around $70,000.

For those wondering why Taylor Swift is dating Travis Kelce: are things beginning to make sense now?

Taylor wants to help the less fortunate?

That’s a pretty well known satire account. (Though it is far more well known than it’s known that it’s satirical.

Which is really ironic in this thread as those posts are indeed “made up”.

Joke's on me then, but if it's satire, it isn't done well if it doesn't read any differently than stuff that a Trumpanzee would write in earnest.

Thanks, Crackpot. I didn't think anyone could be that stupid but I did believe that the guy really meant what he wrote.

That’s sort of the point the whole “alpha male” thing is complete absurdity that doesn’t hold up to the merest scrutiny hidden behind the paper thin veneer of confidence. (Hence the (Alpha Male)).

Conveniently, he overlooks the fact
1) that not everybody follows the particular brand of religion that utilizes the Bible anyway, and
2) it also says in that book that "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)   And if 'idolizing' Taylor Swift is the worst sin on a person's CV, I'm not going to call them out for it.

It's also of course theological horseshit. I am no sort of Biblical expert but to my recollection there is nothing in the Bible against having an idol - it's when you worship that idol as if it were God that it becomes idolatry, which is contrary to the First Commandment.

Indeed, Jesus also said give unto caesar what is caesar's and to god what is god's/. There is nothing wrong with extolling, respecting, or even celebrating someone (like Caesar, their face could even be placed upon a coin); this is not the idolatry which is indicated as wrong in the bible, but I wouldn't expect someone on newsmax to understand the subtleties.

FWIW, I really don't understand Swift's popularity, but to label it as sinful is pretty asinine.

Speaking of idolatry -- How many local 'Christian' churches are changing their typical Sunday schedule so their activities will not conflict with watching the Super Bowl?

Joe, that clip of Ricky Nelson is fascinating. The other guitar player does not look to me to be a teen ager, and the percussion player looks to be as old perhaps as Ozzie Nelson. Was never a fan of R&R, but at least I had the personal integrity as a teenager to nearly throw up when I heard a jukebox in a diner in down-town Kansas City Mo playing Tutti-Fruiti by Pat Boone.

So let me get this straight:

The Border CrisisTM is such a grave national security emergency that the Republicans will refuse to do anything about it until sometime in 2025, and then only if Donald Trump is president. Is that about right?
GAH!

Yes. He is purposely holding up any resolution to the border "crisis"
so he can blame Biden for failing to solve it
And his dumb as shit supporters don't f-ing well understand (or care) that the bastard is doing it
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I don't think Ricky Nelson looks like a teenager in that video either. Apparently the lyrics mean he was idolized by teens, not that he was one of them. My research shows that he was at least 22 yrs old when that video was recorded because the song was released in August 1962 and he was born in May 1940.

Also, the drummer and guitar player could very well be in their late 20s or early 30s. Back in those days once people reached their 20s, they looked really really old.

Oh... and only a real hep cat daddy-o would almost throw up after hearing Pat Boone singing Tutti-Fruitti. It's good to know you weren't a square.
