Trump blasted after calling Paralympics 'a little tough to watch'

President Donald Trump drew criticism from pundits and onlookers on Twitter on Friday when he described the Paralympics as "a little tough to watch too much."
Trump made the comments during a White House reception with the Olympians and Paralympians from Team U.S.A., an event that is held annually to celebrate the teams.
"What happened with the Paralympics was so incredible and so inspiring to me," Trump said. "And I watched — it's a little tough to watch too much, but I watched as much as I could."
He went on to thank the athletes for doing a fantastic job.
The comments immediately drew ire from some onlookers who felt that describing the Paralympics as hard to watch was insulting to the athletes and the uplifting spirit of the event.
California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom was among those who took to Twitter to blast Trump's characterization of the Paralympics.
"Spent my day meeting with CA's Disability Community — some of the most inspiring and thoughtful people I've ever met," Newsom wrote.
"Left to see our President proclaiming the Paralympics are 'a little tough to watch too much of.' Hey, @realDonaldTrump - You're an absolute disgrace."

I took that to mean - as a busy president it's tough to make time to watch a lot of the olympics.
He says plenty of truly dumbfuck horrific things - let's not waste time on the merely clumsy utterances.

Yes, here's a prime example. Keep in mind, this is after only three hours of sleep.

What Trump meant was something along the lines of
"... it was tough to watch these disabled athletes overcome their limitations and perform at such high levels while knowing that I claimed an issue with bone spurs in order to dodge my military commitment."
I'm surprised he didn't go to the other extreme and declare that he too could have been a Paralympian because of his so-called 'condition'. -"BB"-

I would think that also if I thought he didn't watch much TV. Based on his many other expressed thoughts, I think he meant it's difficult to watch disabled people. Then again, maybe I'm so accustomed to hearing him say thoughtless things that I always assume he's saying thoughtless things even when he isn't.

Yeah, it would cut in to all the time he spends watching TV shows where they're talking about his favorite subject...
