Well, now it looks like it has been canceled. The world can breath a sigh of relief that someone as clueless of Trump is not going to meet with a world leader to discuss anything important, as he now cannot screw it up.

As an additional aside, a N Korean spokesman called Pence "a political dummy", presumably of the Charlie McCarthy type. I love it.

No Nobel for Donald?

I'm sure the Trumpanzees will think he should still get it...

Well his canceling the summit might do far more to promote world peace than his meeting would; he could screw up things far more during a meeting than just staying home.

Peace negotiations of this magnitude need to be carried out by a real president and real diplomats -- not by fake ones.

I doubt if there will be any revisiting this issues until after 2020.

That's along the lines of Meade's observation that the surest and quickest way for Trump to earn a Nobel Peace Prize would be for him to resign...

In fact if Trump were to do that I would be willing to support not only giving him the Nobel Peace Prize but also the Nobel Prizes for economics, chemistry, physics, literature, and physiology or medicine...

I'd also be happy to name him Miss America and Best In Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show...

Of course Trump is completely unqualified for any of those awards, but giving them to him would be a small price to pay in exchange for getting him to give up the job he is completely unqualified for...
