Kansas Gubernatorial election.'

Gubernatorial is such a strange word. Reminds me of that peanut farmer from Plains GA,
Some of you may remember that I went to my county election commissioner's office and renounced my affiliation with the Republican party after Drumpf was elected. I never was a strong Republican. I only signed up because a neighbor wanted me, and maybe a dozen others, to write him in for a low level local office on the primary ballot so he wouldn't have to pay the filing fee to be on the Nov ballot. It worked. Independence is good.
Now we have Kris Kobach running against incumbent Governor/Dr Jeff Colyer MD. Knowing that Kobach is a Drumpf puppet, I could not see not requesting a Republican ballot at the pole. At the last announced count, Kobach was ahead of Dr Colyer by just over 100 votes. Mail in ballots have yet to be counted. I'm glad I voted. Those who supported Dr Colyer, but neglected to vote, should kick themselves in their collective butts.
As the current state's secretary of state, Kobach is supposed to be in charge of certifying the election. He as been TOLD by Gov Colyer to recuse himself from any probable recount or certification. He says he will.
Kobach has suggested such things as a national Muslim registry. He was instrumental in several cities across the country passing anti-immigrant laws, writing those laws for them while serving as the KS secretary of state. (It's apparently legal to moonlight.) ALL of those cities were sued with ACLU backing. Guess who was paid to defend the cities. Kobach.
In 2017, he was appointed the Vice Chairman and "driving force" behind the President Trump's Commission on Election Integrity, which purported to quantify the extent of voter fraud in the United States. The Trump administration dissolved the commission on January 3, 2018. Who would have guessed there was nothing to be found...
We have a bigot in the White House. We don't need one in the governor's mansion.
So, it seems that almost exactly half of the Republican voters in Kansas are not exceptionally bright.
I can renounce my republicanism again any time after Sept 1st.
