Eric Trump: Woodward earned 'three extra shekels' with CNN appearance

Eric Trump lashed out at Bob Woodward during a Wednesday interview on Fox News, calling the Watergate veteran's book a work of fiction used for publicity.

The president's son also remarked that Woodward made "three extra shekels" with his book attacking the Trump administration.

"Don't you think people look through the fact that you can write a sensational, nonsense book, CNN will definitely have you on there because they love to trash the president," Trump said, responding to Fox and Friends host Steve Doocy, who asked if the book detailed "chaos" in the White House. "It will mean you sell three extra books, you make three extra shekels."

"Is that really where we are? I think people read through this," he said.

Well, maybe not so much "read through it" (by which I believe Eric meant "see through it" ...well, you can't really blame him for that mistake; look who he's had for a role model....) as planning to read it:

Simon & Schuster, the publishing company behind journalist Bob Woodard's upcoming book, "Fear: Trump in the White House," is printing one million copies of the White House tell-all to keep up with demand, according to a CNN Money report.

"We have reprinted six times for a total of seven to meet extraordinary demand — that will put one million books in print before we've even gone on sale," [That's a whole lotta Shekels] a Simon & Schuster spokesperson said to CNN "Reliable Sources" host Brian Stelter.

Following the release of some of its bombshell excerpts, the book has catapulted to the top spot on Amazon and Barnes & Noble's online best seller list. It is currently ranked fifth in Amazon's 2018 best sellers list.

I wonder why he said 'shekels' and not 'dollars.' Weird. (Well maybe not: the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.)

My guess is that he was making some asinine biblical reference to judas and the 30 pieces of silver, although I don't think a piece of silver was called a shekels. I think it's just the way he thinks, that, like jesus, he was betrayed and sold out for a few coins. Indeed, he was quoted as saying "No one in history was ever sold out by a traitor for such a paltry sum; judas was paid 30 pieces of silver to betray jesus and I'm much more important than jesus--I'm even more important than the beatles. this betrayal will be remembered forever".

I bet Drumpf will proclaim his ghostwritten POS tour de force, "Art of the Deal," sold far more copies than any and all of the lies and accusations that Bob Woodword has ever published.
