Yeah, The Donald may be a groveling little pussy when it comes to Vladimir Putin or The House Of Saud, but we can always count on our Fearful Leader to bravely stand up to the weak and powerless...

Those widows and orphans fleeing Central American death squads should have had the sense to spend millions on Trump properties; then instead of bellowing threats he'd be rolling out the red carpet...

ETA:
Ahead of Pompeo trip, Trump threatens Central America with aid cuts over caravan

President Donald Trump is warning Central American countries to stop a caravan of migrants heading toward the U.S. southern border or face an end of U.S. foreign assistance, touting his blustering stance on immigration as a winning campaign strategy for the Republican Party in the 2018 midterm Congressional elections.

But his threat comes as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is preparing for a trip to Central America to improve ties with those regional partners and mitigate the issues that drive so many migrants to make that journey north – the very programs the president is now threatening to cut.

The Trump administration has tried to get those three countries, sometimes collectively known as the Northern Triangle, to step up their border security.

But it's unclear how much they can do to stop the thousands that flee because of the violence, poverty, and lack of opportunity at home. In fact, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights urged Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico to respect their rights and ensure their safety on their journey.

This reminds me of the way Il Boobce used to threaten to destroy the Mexican economy if they wouldn't pay for his wall...

There is no surer way to make certain that you will increase the refugee flow to the US from a country, than to further undermine that country's economic and security stability...

What a friggin' mo-ron... :loon

what is moronic is the support the dems are giving this caravan, monetary and moral support.

you have given the GOP this election.

even trump haters that I know are calling this caravan an invasion.

an invasion is what this is and everyone knows it.

we are sovereign or not.

you have over played your hand.

this action will cause expedited deportations of central americans

the Dems will be blamed for this fiasco.

you have made trump into an American hero

My god, they'll enslave us all and rape our women and children. And unleash their WMDs to destroy our country and our way of life. And I though the domino theory was asinine.

Pretty small effects for an invasion.

And FWIW, if we hadn't gutted our unions (thanks in large part to your GOP). we might have more barriers to entering the construction trades. But "right to work", right?

And FWIW, I do care, and if you or any of your brethren did, they could employ licensed tradesmen and pay a premium for it--but somehow I bet they won't. They'll find the guy who will do it for half the price (or less) regardless of their status, and then bitch about how those "illegals" are taking jobs.

And face it, most of these guys are not doing construction work (they are no trained for it), they are doing things kids used to do, but no longer do--yard work, snow removal, junk hauling, house cleaning, etc.

whatever man.....

you know nothing about it.

you are right that the quality in the trades has suffered.

those kids that did the work you speak of are lost.

they were the future of the trades.

many tradesmen were run out of business by the low wage workers

and many more by over regulation.

and the unions gutted themselves.

they became unreasonable, as has your party.

screw the unions, the small shops are the heart and soul and they are beating again...., and hoping....

vote trump.

I have no party, not have I had a party in my lifetime. One is not a democrat because (s)he does not support the republicans; and while I will vote democratic in this election, it will be a vote against Trump and his supporters rather than a vote for the democrats. I have voted for a number of republicans in my lifetime, third party candidates too (even for national office, like republican Clifford Case for the senate or Ralph Nader for president); I have also voted in both republican and democratic primaries.

The GOP today would rip baby Jesus from his mother's arms, put him in a cage and immediately deport Joseph and Mary.
