Trumps cancel American cemetery visit

US President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will not visit the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery and Memorial on Saturday afternoon, as planned, because of poor weather.

A White House statement said the planned visit had been "canceled due to scheduling and logistical difficulties caused by the weather. An American delegation led by Chief of Staff General John Kelly and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joe Dunford will attend on their behalf.

Trump was originally scheduled to take Marine 1 to the memorial site, situated 50 miles outside Paris. But gray skies and drizzle forced the trip to be called off.

The cemetery contains the graves of nearly 2,300 war dead, many of whom fought in the area in the summer of 1918.

The late change of plans leaves Trump's afternoon in Paris largely empty before he attends a dinner for leaders at the Musée d'Orsay.”

"He was unable to get in his normal two hours sleep because he was frantically scratching his head and trying to remember it", said an official who asked not to be identified.

"The situation was further complicated when he accidentally tore out his hair extensions", the official continued. "Due to his lack of head cover and inability to operate an umbrella, Trump's advisors convinced him that it was best for them not to attend the ceremony." It was later reported that Donald said he would wear his MAGA hat to cover his head but Melania had hidden it from him, thinking it might not be appropriate. He was last seen entering his limo and ordering the driver to find him a McDonald's restaurant.

French President Emmanuel Macron is warning against the dangers of nationalism in a speech aimed directly at the rising tide of populism in the United States and Europe.

With U.S. President Donald Trump and other world leaders looking on during an Armistice Day centennial observance in Paris on Sunday, Macron said the "ancient demons" that caused World War I and millions of deaths are growing stronger.

The French leader said: "Patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism. Nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism. In saying 'Our interests first, whatever happens to the others,' you erase the most precious thing a nation can have, that which makes it live, that which causes it to be great and that which is most important: Its moral values."

Trump has proudly declared himself a nationalist. Macron has set himself up as Europe's foil to nationalist movements that rail against global approaches, like ones that have taken hold in Hungary and Poland among other countries.

  And Trump is saying that his own machine, the very best top-of-the-line-helicopter in the US inventory with the very best military pilots the USMC can muster, can't fly in bad weather? Over French countryside to land in the middle of a giant field?
