How you "smear" a person using this video?

Of course the music is bad enough to cause anyone shame.

Is there context here? Who was it targeted for shaming/smearing?

FWIW, I believe my IQ dropped 50 points while watching it.

The story will make you lose fifty more points and then you’ll be in the range of the the whole thing being effective and I can’t be responsible for that.

Old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dance video goes viral as supporters mock shaming attempt

[Well, I am definitely not a supporter of the Congresswoman or her political views, but I am nevertheless happy to join the mockery of this beyond ridiculous "shaming" attempt.]

An unearthed video purportedly showing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, dancing in a college-era video was shared by conservative Twitter accounts Wednesday as an attempt to discredit the newly sworn-in progressive congresswoman. Instead, the clip went viral as messages of support were widely posted.

Calling Ocasio-Cortez a "clueless nitwit," an anonymous right-wing twitter account shared a video of young people dancing, saying it showed "High School video of 'Sandy' Ocasio-Cortez." The video has since been viewed more than 5 million times.

The clip appears to be an edited version of a 2010 YouTube video of Boston University students dancing to the song "Lisztomania" by Phoenix. The viral clip has been shortened to feature Ocasio-Cortez, and the music has been replaced with a mocking soundtrack.

Who you gonna believe? A re-broadcast of a 'Blue Blood' episode had the police commissioner in a tv broadcast saying exactly the reverse of what he believed about NY cops enforcing drug laws and legalizing recreational marijuana. The technology to edit and dup in dialogue has made it stupid to accept anything on broadcast tv or social media as a recording of anything similar to reality without careful verification. On the other hand, that is not a new situation. Dan Rather had his career cut short by a faked typed document that his organization did not check out carefully. He left his news career in disgrace. Further careful checking indicated the document was faked, but the information there in was real. The 'fake' became the important thing while the actual deed under investigation was lost in the static. I remember Rather claiming that despite his source being proven to be bogus that he still believed the charge was accurate, (That GWB had falsified his attendance at some Air National Guard operations that he was required to attend) but I don't recall any actual proof backing that up ever coming to light...

(Sort of like the way some people to this day continue to claim that 43 "deliberately lied" to get us into the war in Iraq, when no credible proof of this charge has ever been presented.)

Thanks for the context. I do feel dumber for reading that. However, I also feel smarter knowing that even with a sub-50 IQ, I am order of magnitude more intelligent than the morons who are behind this.

Also too and as well, remember that this happened:

I have not seen and most likely will not see the video. But if the subject of the video is a liberal democrat, as if there was any other kind, the chances that she is some kind of closet commie is good. If a communist of any kind is going to elected in the USA it will happen in that region. The modern Democrat party is a place where moderates are not welcomed. My wife and I will soon be leaving the Democrat party and joining the Republicans. My wife is the one pushing it; I am the one that is reluctant. The Republicans have never seemed to me to be the party the redneck working class, but I am defiantly not a commie or a fascist so I don’t belong with the, so called, Democrats. There is no other practical choice. And if enough of us join the Republicans we change it to a more of a working class party.
