He didn't exactly cover himself in glory, but if there had been any real intent to interfere with a prosecution, he would have named an Attorney General who would have gone where Wilson-Raybould refused to go, before any of this had become public. Instead the new AG chose not to intervene in the case either.
Certainly no one who has condoned Trump's innumerable attempts to interfere in investigations and prosecutions has any business trying to make something out of this.
