A cynical person might think he is doing it on purpose. Perhaps some House committee should look into who is shorting stock in tandem with these pronouncements.

Trump would have to be working with someone in order to do that (to short the market) ... and seriously, when's the last time you could trust Trump to work with ANYBODY on ANYTHING before he threw 'em under the bus?

It's just that the market knows that whenever Trump does or says something having to do with the economy, banking, trade, taxes, or even loosening business regulations, it is going to be so profoundly ignorant, imbecilic, or just plain contrary to the laws of nature that it's going to affect things for the worst under other, more knowledgeable entities come into play to offset it.
