Remember all the hoopla, the ballyhoo, and the fol-de-rol that surrounded the 200th anniversary (the Bicentennial) of the Founding of America back in 1976?

Well, we're almost up to 2020, and from there it's a short six years to the 250th anniversary (the Sestercentennial).  I just hope the nation survives Trump and the next election cycle, and we're still around to observe it in 2026.

Is that a typo or a reference to the declining influence of ideas that have dominated politics, philosophy and the arts?

If so, that decline celebrated its 50th anniversary a few year ago. (Estimated to have started circa 1967.)

I was thinking of the 10th anniversary of November 2016.

That's an anniversary that should probably be observed in much the same way as the 10th anniversary of 9/11...

A day of mourning for a major national catastrophe...

I see they omitted Billericay in Essex and the important Christopher Martin. Sadly, the original four from Billericay died shortly after reaching the hallowed shores.

Billerica Mass. was founded in 1655 and named for Billericay, with the already-characteristic inability of the colonial masses to spell. (see, "What's wrong with 'ou'?" and "Why is the 's' backwards?" by Prof. Gob)
