Yes, he can be impeached - but I doubt that the House will want to muddy the waters with that.
A number of AGs have had impeachment articles drafted or threatened against them in history, including most recently Eric Holder (they never came out of the Judiciary committee) and Alberto Gonzales, Jr. (they never got past the rules committee, but he resigned).
