Why not just tattoo them and put them in a concentration camp

GOP Rep. Steve King Wants “Names And Addresses” Of COVID Patients So Others Can Make “Good Decisions”

“If we don’t know who is positive, then how do we know how to help them, pray for them, and how do we know not to visit them, for that matter?

“People will say, well, there’s a stigma attached with that today. There may be. But I don’t know why there should be a stigma attached with it. You don’t know where you get it, how you get it. But if you have it, then you need to be staying away from other people and self-quarantining.

“And so if we’re going to address this and eradicate this virus, then if, say in our neighborhood we don’t know who has it, we only see that maybe one person in the entire county has tested positive.

“And then no one knows who that is, or that’s supposed to know, according to the rules we’re living by today. And when that person is now recovered, we don’t know that either. I don’t think that we can make very good decisions without information.

“The first thing I would like to have, I’d like to have age, I’d like to have pre-existing conditions. I’d like to know whether they’re male or female, and then on down the line. What town they live in, what their address is, what their name is.

“If we had all of that, we could make good decisions.” – White supremacist GOP Rep. Steve King, speaking on a “telephone town hall” with his constituents.

Why do you need someone's address to pray for them?

Apparently God can't know where to direct your prayers unless you tell him the right ZIP code.

Steve King is such a toxic, hate mongering weasel that even the GOP establishment has been trying to get rid of him for years...

The implied premise here is ludicrous; people suffering from Covid-19 have no interest in somehow keeping their identities secret; they want help getting their lives saved...

King trades in paranoia, hate and fear; it's how he's stayed in office. He's just looking for another target to whip up fear about, (an "other" for folks to be afraid of) and this must have looked like an opportunity to his sick and cynical eyes...

The commonwealth of Massachusetts stopped reported positives by town because of concerns for safety of patients with coronavirus. I'm pretty sure based on several stories I've read about early positives from cruise ships who were easily identified by their communities and since shunned and harassed by many that plenty of folks are interested in maintaining their HIPAA privacy rights and not being revealed to the public at large as someone who has/had covid.

At some point tbere is going to have to be something - certificate of immunity or whatever - that allows folks who are able to be exposed to work. But at the moment I don't think that most people who are getting diagnosed are feeling like jumping on the news like Chris Cuomo. I don't think it's ludicrous to assume a lot of these people want to keep their status secret from anyone but immediate family and physicians.
