My guess is that his staff who typed the speech wanted to avoid the very real possibility that he would say 'Yose Mite' (rhymes with Marmite) and, in order to get something approaching the proper pronunciation gave him a phonetic rendering 'Yo SEMitee' or something like that in parentheses.
