Julian Assange, who was plucked from the Ecuadorean Embassy a few months ago, is now at an extradition hearing which will determine whether he is sent to the US to face charges there. I think that he and Wikileaks and Chelsea Manning did some wonderful stuff with the initial releases on information; but I think that Assange should have gone to Sweden to face sexual assault charges there.
The Guardian is reporting the hearing:
- ignores the institutional competencies of federal agencies
- ignores the constitution of the United States; and
- ignores the independence of its courts.
I'm sure it will come to me.

I'm trying to think of someone else whoIn his submission, Lewis [James Lewis, QC, appearing for the US authorities] accused Assange’s lawyers of conducting a defence consisting of “an attack upon the president of the United States [which] ignores the institutional competencies of the agencies relevant to this case, the constitution of the United States and the independence of its courts”.
