That can't be good for Trump; they surely don't want to see his cuts in social security funding to move forward. For many, that's all they have.

My regular polling place. Line outside around three sides of the building and a chllly wind blowing. I brought a folding camp chair but the line was moving so fast I rarely used it. Two precincts use this location. Long table in the middle with six individuals with special computer terminal in front of them. Screens like I have never seen before. This time there was no separation for the two voting districts. They put in the address and some stuff comes up that I did not see. The screen had a reader that was supposed to look at the bar code on my driver's license, but it could not find what it was looking for and the human asked me a couple of questions., turned around the screen and asked me to sign it with a rubber tipped stylus. I did, and then a printer about the size of the black-jack 'shoe' in a casino spit out a long piece of paper with my name, address, and other stuff printed on one end. Usually we have three voting machines on each side of the room for each precinct. This time there were five machines on each side and somebody wiping them down between each use. The long paper went into a slot on the side of the machine. Usual name and offices and party on the screen. Touched my choices and then they were all printed on the paper and the machine asked me to check it to be sure it was right. It was (no idea what it would do if I did not approve). Hit the vote button and my slip of paper disappeared into the machine. This was the first time I saw this type of machine. I Like the paper trail. All told it took an hour and five minutes from out of car to back into car. When I left the line was about half as long as when I arrived.

Now I wait a week to see what happens in Pennsylvania. Oh yes one disappointment--no button or sticker that says "I voted"

snailgate.

I'm seeing reports of lots of turnout in western PA. I think I was 16 or 17 locally which amazed Doc for a time that early. Most elections in the borough get about 30 votes total given the area.

It will be interesting to see what the total turnout is.

I suspect records will be broken in many areas.

A report from FL says voting has now surpassed the turnout in 2016.

No line at the polls here 9am; I teared up when they handed me the ballot; I voted for America.

The stickers were on a chair all around a large pump of hand sanitizer. There was a local policeman sitting quietly by the door - not sure how I feel about that.

Pretty sure that's a legal requirement in Massachusetts.

No I don’t think so - I don’t recall seeing any police at the polls at the primary a few weeks ago, nor in prior elections.

This is an article discussing the presence of law enforcement at Massachusetts polls, which was ordered by the Secretary of State to keep order at the polls - they clearly have concern that unrest could potentially occur in this election.

I just have mixed feelings about law enforcement sitting in the polling place like that; I would’ve preferred them off to the side readily available if needed.

We always have a detail at our polling place. At Town Meeting, too.

just returning from voting.

slightly less people there when I arrived than there were this morning, but by the time I left the line had increased again....

took almost exactly an hour to get thru

mostly 50 something and sixty something men in line this time...

some women....

a lot of walking sticks and beards...

surprising only a smattering of black people, really out of whack with the local population...

many were 50-60 yr old men...

out of the whole crowd women were only maybe 30 per cent..., it wasn t that way earlier

the turnout seems un precedented.., in my experience anyway

yeah my friend 50, told me yesterday that he was going to vote for the first time in his life, and damned if we didn t see him leaving the polling place....

he didn t r even know that he was registered until they sent him a mail in ballot, they sent one to everyone, I think...

he said he hadn t registered since the old days when he had a drrivers licence,,,

he jogs and takes care of harness racing horses in the morning, and comes in town and gets drrunk every afternoon...

lovable drunk....

almost died the other week, he got shit faced drunk the other week and snorted a line of something...

they had to hit him with the Narcan twice...

right up the street behind the vfw..

the guy that gave it to him turned up with his face all swollen and bruised a few days later...

mu friend has friends that arren t to be trifled with...

I told a pagan, a few months back that if he was on fire, I wouldn t cross the street to piss on him..

he was pushing ice...

that was scary, they did a few very loud cruises past my house aftter that...

I slept with my shotgun for a while....

Record turn out in a US election? What, over 25%?
