Jim Wright
Irony jumps the tracks, careens wildly down the embankment, plows through a mink farm, slams into a circus, crashes into the river where it rolls over, bursts into flames, explodes, and rains down flaming weasels and burning clown shrapnel over the terrorized countryside.

She's got a valid point. She does have a name of her own, and she is entitled to be known/designated by it.
However, if you were to ask a hundred people at random "Who is Tabitha King?", I pretty much guarantee you that unless they are devoted fans of Stephen King himself, somewhere between 95 out of 100 of them will just give you a blank look...
... or ask, "wasn't that the name of female agent/partner of Patrick Macnee on the old 'Avengers' TV show?"
So like it or not, being identified as 'Mrs. Stephen King' is a necessary evil to provide useful information to the general populace.
Although I will bow to the will of the feministas and agree that they could have written it something like "Tabitha King and her spouse, Stephen King, made a donation, et cetera."
Or is even daring to connect her to her far-more famous husband in any way, shape, or form a big bad naughty no-no these days of the empowerment of women and the belittlement of manhood??

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Isn't she a writer also? What does she mean by "relick"?
By "she" I'm referring to Stephen King's wife, of course...

Ye olde gravestone words:
http://ctgravestones.org/instructive-ar ... criptions/Consort is a when the wife has died before the husband leaving him alone. Relict (Relick, Releeck, Relect) is the same as a widow, hence dying after her husband, she being left alone

How much of that $1.25m came from sales of his bird's books?

Might one ask how much of the cost of your new camera(s) came from your personal stash, hmmmm?
Or did you and the good lady discuss the issue and agree on a deduction from your mutual holdings?
PS this wasn't about the donation but about the elimination of a joint decision-maker's name from the reportage

The point is that if they had announced "Tabitha King donates $1.25m" it would have been passed by as just another (unknown) rich person making a tax deductible donation. As it is, people, (for some strange reason,) enjoy Stephen King's books, and that gives the organisation concerned more kudos and validity.
They could have just put "Stephen King donates", and left her out entirely, she's lucky to be included. Or they could have put "Mr and Mrs Stephen King donate".
They camera came out of my own funds, just in case you were concerned.

They could have just as easily gone with “Steve and Tabitha King”. And given the fact that they would have gotten fuck all without Tabitha it really is the least they could do.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: And the award for the best shade throwing goes to...
But what does it all prove? That someone, somewhere, made a post, probably in good faith and with good intent, but used the wrong names? I don't think it's really front page news.
