Rush Limbaugh has died

Normally the human side of me feels some sadness for anyone's death, even if it's only a measure of empathy for the family.
I'm happy to make an exception in his case.

Well, I had a very deep dislike/hatred of this man, but unlike the depraved here, I am not going to cheer over anyone's death.

Rush Limbaugh was a wicked man who did immeasurable damage to American politics and culture for his own profit and aggrandizement. He was a significant contributing factor to the extremism, polarization and dysfunction prevalent today. His death is about 35 years too late.

Oddly I think he was in the news the other day talking about the dangers of “Trumpism”. Deathbed conversion maybe?

I had forgotten the OKC Murrah Building 1995 bombing. Limbaugh was fairly new around then - only a few years - but it was obvious to all what Clinton was talking about after the bombing:
President Clinton Monday denounced the “loud and angry voices” that inflame the public debate and called on the American people to speak out against “the purveyors of hatred and division.”
Addressing last week’s bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City, Clinton said the nation’s airwaves are too often used “to keep some people as paranoid as possible and the rest of us all torn up and upset with each other. They spread hate, they leave the impression that, by their very words, that violence is acceptable. … It is time we all stood up and spoke against that kind of reckless speech and behavior,” he said in Minneapolis.
In angry tones, the president said: “When they talk of hatred, we must stand against them. When they talk of violence, we must stand against them. When they say things that are irresponsible, that may have egregious consequences, we must call them on it.”

Should I pretend to be donning sackcloth and ashes over his death? Or should I be condemning others for their righteous contempt for the guy? Because you are clearly the person who should be advising me about what my reaction should be.
