And the grift goes on

The "Save America" leadership PAC — which was put together by disgraced former president D.J. 'Dishonest John' Trump and which, at last estimate, contained nearly $100 million in cash reserves — recently donated $650,000 to the Smithsonian Institution.  However, this came with a very important caveat — the donation was made in order to "help underwrite portraits of the former President and former first lady Melania Trump at the National Portrait Gallery", according to Linda St. Thomas, chief spokesperson for the Smithsonian.   (https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/22/politics/trump-donors-underwrite-portraits/index.html)

Couple of questions, not the least of which is how the people who donated to this PAC to no doubt "Stop the Steal", fight the "Radical Left" (which is anyone who stands even a smidgeon to the left of him) , or otherwise put forth Trump's message about 'Making America Racist Again' feel now that they've been shown just how their donations are being spent.  Maybe this is what it takes for the scales drop from their eyes so they can actually see clearly just who is stealing what from whom ... although I still wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

Secondly is the fact that there was already a portrait of Trump on display.   (link to Smithsonian article about it here). Why the need for additional ones — unless it's a case of the man-boy needing to cater to his ego, which already appears to be about the size of the planet Jupiter and growing larger even as we watch.

And lastly, why are they going in the National Portrait Gallery?  The proper place for Trump's picture would be alongside other famous traitors in American history, people like Benedict Arnold, Axis Sally, and Julius and Ethel Rosenberg.

Also, Trump's portrait would fit in perfectly if hung somewhere below paintings of Larry, Moe and Curly Joe...

It’s so much fun to have had a raging malignant narcissist as our president - hasn’t it been?
