That's brilliant! If it wasn't so sad, it would be bigly beautiful

jimmy Kimmel lied to the American people when he claimed the Kirk shooter, Robinson, was MAGA. Friends and family, as well as his own social media and writings, and message described on his bullets make it clear he was a leftist, possibly even affiliated with Antifa. I understand that they don't have membership rolls.

Re: Maybe this guy can get Kimmel’s spot?
That's so tiresome - parroting the MAGA lie. What Kimmel said is this:
“The Maga gang [is] desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it”
He not once said that the shooter was a MAGA person. He was pointing to the chorus of cries from Trump fans to declare the shooter was NOT one of them. Why did he point that out? Because shortly beforehand, Kirk was being pilloried by certain MAGA mouthpieces for suggesting that the Epstein files should be released. So, MAGA closed ranks, ranted that the killer was anything but one of them (which seems to be true as it turns out) and tried to make political points out of Kirk's death, regardless of who killed him or why.
So piss off Lib with this "he claimed (Robinson) was MAGA". He just plain bloody well did not

Unless you can point out an actual lie, I'm assuming you're talking about this comment:liberty wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 1:52 amjimmy Kimmel lied to the American people when he claimed the Kirk shooter, Robinson, was MAGA. How can that accurately be interpreted as anything other than Kimmel's opinion, which he based on the fact that Robinson was raised by a Mormon maga family in Utah?“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
Edited to Add: I posted the above before reading Meade's highly intelligent comment.

The George Bush precedent is quite simple. It works like this: if you say something and it later turns out you were wrong, then you are a liar. No exceptions.

What did Kimmel say that was wrong? Maga-people were doing everything they could to distance them from Robinson and to blame every democrat in the US for what he did.

Bull shit, General Meade, that’s not what was heard or said. By the George Bush precedent, he is a liar.MajGenl.Meade wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 2:15 amThat's so tiresome - parroting the MAGA lie. What Kimmel said is this:

MAGAts heard what they wanted to hear so they had an excuse to be angry, because without their anger they are nothing.
And so much for all the MAGAts claiming that Kimmel was brought back on because he agreed to put his tale between his legs and express contrition. He came out with guns blazing for both Brendan Carr and Trump.

Yes it was. Please quit lying. If it wasn't, then you provide the quote and the source of the quote. Here's just one source of many (link at bottom of page)General Meade, that’s not what was heard or said
Kimmel also said this (as shown in the link):
https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/nati ... d/3989961/“And in between the finger pointing, there was grieving on Friday. The White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level you can see how hard the president is taking this.”
Kimmel then cut to a video of a reporter outside the White House offering Trump his condolences about Kirk and asking how the president has been holding up.
“I think very good,” Trump said. “And, by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they’ve been trying to get, as you know, for about 150 years. And it’s going to be a beauty.”
Kimmel then returned on screen and reacted to Trump’s response. “Yes, he’s at the fourth stage of grief: construction,” Kimmel said. “Demolition, construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish, OK?”

So no one — including, or maybe ESPECIALLY yourself — is allowed to make an honest mistake or a differing opinion based on the available (and in many times, unproven) information. Instead they have to be prescient or omniscient, and must know the 'facts' before they've been determined. Otherwise, just shut up and let other people spread their 'facts' — like Donnie did about the solutions for COVID (ivermectin? bleach? UV lighting? Which one of those statements of his were eventually proven to be correct? Ergo and ipso facto, Trump is a liar!!), and like he and RFK Jr. are doing about the supposed link between Tylenol and autism.
Got it.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: Maybe this guy can get Kimmel’s spot?
Sorry, B.B the George Bush precedent stands: if you say something and it turns out it's wrong, then you are a liar. ""By the way you judge others, you shall be judged. The George Bush administration claimed there were WMDs in Iraq—it turns out there were not. And every other intelligence agency in the world also believed they were there. That doesn't matter. He was wrong; therefore, he's a liar.Bicycle Bill wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 3:14 pmSo no one — including, or maybe ESPECIALLY yourself — is allowed to make an honest mistake or a differing opinion based on the available (and in many times, unproven) information. So, if you're wrong about anything, you're a liar too. And Meade he's a liar, and Sue's a liar, and. It's just human nature. Infallibility is not possible. To try to do anything, sometimes you're going to be wrong. There's nothing wrong with being wrong. It's led to some of our greatest advances. The ability to take a risk and learn from your mistakes has helped humanity evolve.
So, you're a liar. I'm a liar too. I accept it. You should accept it as well. It's your precedent—or maybe it's Sue's. I think perhaps the George Bush precedent should apply more to liberals than to anyone else.

Re: Maybe this guy can get Kimmel’s spot?
'When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.’
Webster says a liar is " A person who knowingly utters falsehood; one who declares to another as a fact what he knows to be not true, and with an intention to deceive him. The uttering of falsehood by mistake, and without an intention to deceive, does not constitute one a liar"
So just give it up will you?

Well the upside of this Kimmel situation is that I have started recording all three late night shows and watching at least the monologues every day and it’s lifted my spirits considerably; I stopped watching some years ago because of earlier bedtime but I’ve missed the humor and it’s nice to see more than just the clips on Morning Joe.
The Felon would be foolish to try to rob us of all humor in these times, for if he does, we’ll have nothing left but the rage.
