When you thought people couldn't get more stupid
When you thought people couldn't get more stupid
There is a measles outbreak in South Carolina. Antivaxxer MAGAts are referring to them as "freedom freckles".
We are doomed.
We are doomed.

Oh you Canadians are so naive. Freedom is never free. Freedom freckles are proudly the evidence that some truly partiotic parents are willing to kill their children in the name of true freedom. Or perhaps it obedience to the voice of the wonderfully wise voice of the Secretary of Health, speaking as the chosen servant of G-d.
It is truly interesting times in which we now live.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

No thanks, I don’t care much for measles. I like to avoid them if I can.Bicycle Bill wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 9:27 pmWhen you thought people couldn''t get more stupid...

Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

Does one not get vaccinated against Covid? I've been doing this all wrong . . .
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

May be off topic but here it is anyway.
"Why 696 pennies sold for more than $16.7 million" Headline on a Yahool news item. Said the last pennies produced at the government mint at Philadelphia were sold at auction. Some were produced on solid gold blanks.
Any body have the skills to discover if the president or any of his family ended up with a cut from this auction?
I am still getting pennies in change from local merchants in cash transactions

I don't use cash much but a few weeks back I got a super shiny new 2025 penny in change for a cash transaction and I put it aside in the little collection of rocks, acorns, feathers and the 1970 Canadian penny with a sea star on one side that I keep because that's the year of my arrival. I will miss the penny - but then I miss the dial phone on the wall and the TV with only 5 channels.

So, I asked Google, and the AI response was....MajGenl.Meade wrote: ↑Sun Dec 14, 2025 12:48 pmDoes one not get vaccinated against Covid? I've been doing this all wrong . . .
You are vaccinated for COVID-19 (meaning in favor of or to protect against the virus), not against it, as the vaccine helps your body build immunity to fight the actual virus, which is generally a good thing for public health and personal safety. People use "vaccinated for COVID" to mean they received the shot to get protection, while "against COVID" usually describes opposition to the virus (e.g., "fighting against") or the vaccines themselves (anti-vaxxers).
Here's the breakdown:
- Vaccinated for COVID: You got the shot to gain immunity and prevent severe illness from the virus.
- Against COVID: Refers to the virus itself (e.g., "we're against COVID"), or sometimes, it's incorrectly used to mean being against the vaccine (anti-vaxxers).
So, the common, correct phrase is being vaccinated for COVID-19 (to protect yourself from it.
And, of course we all know that AI long ago replaced Emily Post as the go-to source for grammar etiquette or the answer to any question whatsoever that anyone may have. So we must accept AI as the source authority for all answers to our questions.
As an aside, I'd like to suggest that instead of using the short cut "AI" for Artificial Intelligence, people either write Artificial Intelligence or we all agree on a new name for it. Otherwise, because the capital 'I' looks a lot like the lower case 'l', on Facebook, for example, when someone says, "That's AI", it always appears that they're attributing something to Albert, Alfred, Alexander, Alan, Allen, Alphonse, or Alvin.
Just a thought.

Yes, you know that.
