I was just thinking about that phrase (a day of infamy) yesterday, recalling that FDR stated that December 7th, 1941 would be "a date which will live in infamy" after Japan launched an attack on a territory of the US, and I was wondering why the attack by the US on the capital of a SOVEREIGN NATION in an action that resulted in the removal of its duly-elected and installed leader — and the stated intent for the invaders to "run the country" for an undetermined time — wasn't pretty much the same thing.

Now, thanks to BSG's post, I realize that
1) the term had already been used, which means that
2) under Trump's regime there have been so many days (and acts) of infamy that if we start using that term to call them what they are, we're going to have to start numbering them like Super Bowls...

Actuall, the bigger "Day of Infamy" was when Trump was reelected after the Jan 6 events. That is a much bigger threat to our system of government.
