ICE arrested a person who 'demonstrated' in a church that uses an ICE agent as a volunteer lay-pastor, sort of. I am not very well informed about this. To me it appears that she may actually have been appropriatly taken in by ICE. BUT that is never enough ICE distributed her picture. Then later they released the same picture, manipulated to show her crying. The new Faux News (CBS ) actually questioned it. They got a wonderful reply:

In response to CBS News' request for comment on whether the photo was altered, the White House press office sent a link to an X post by White House spokesman Kaelan Dorr referring to the post as a "meme."
"Enforcement of the law will continue. The memes will continue. Thank you for your attention to this matter," Dorr said on X.

The lies will continue. There is no reason to expect any truth from the White House. Thank you for your attention in this matter, snailgate says on this BBS.

This just in: I’ve learned that when you pull the sidestrings on that blue hat, the bunny ears on top stand up!

DEFINITELY the worst of the worst!

The enemy does it all the time. I’ve seen many examples

That bunny hatted kid is 5 years old (currently languishing in a notoriously awful detention facility outside Fort Bliss Texas); this one is TWO years old, detained in MN and flown to Texas yesterday (since returned to MN by order of a federal judge):

Definitely the worst of the worst!

We are so lucky to have the brave men and women of the Gestapo ICE protecting us from these killers!

I needed to check in today to see if you all were still kicking and agreeing with me about the unbelievable mess in Minneapolis. It looks like you are.

Thanks for posting MG, good to know you are still around. I heard Ricky Skaggs "Gone Home' on the radio this morning and it tore me up. Maybe just cabin fever from being snowed in for the last week. But most of my friends have Gone Home and I get into a depression spiral wondering why I am still here. Professional question: Is it best to replace the SU carbs? Anybody still around who still knows how to balance them" Or is is simpler
to change to webers?

Back to the thread. It is good to know our stable genius leader is working hard to remove those hordes of murderers that were sent from those South American prisons. Amazing how much personal discipline these criminals demonstrated by staying below the radar and living as ordinary good contributors to the community for decades. After all isn't it the American way that it is better for 10 little kids go to jail than one green card holder fail to pay a fine for running a stop sign.

Yes, good to hear from you MGMcA. At our age when we don't hear from someone for a few weeks we usually assume the worst. Too many last year - I had four good friends who passed on over about a six month period.

On the subject of the thread: I suppose too many of us assume that democracy will always be there in the same way that we assume the stair rail at the gym is always there and is always checked to make sure it will hold if you slip on the ice. It's just there, and we assume that the guys we pay to defend it as necessary with rifles and grenades will be there to do their stuff. We never thought that the threat would come from within.

A lot of us, Gen-X and older especially, were told the threat was within. Of course we were told the threat would be the Commie Socialists coming to take our Democracy away (and our cars, and houses, and food). The Commies would promise equality and prosperity for everyone and deliver nothing but poverty, so don't vote for Socialists because they're really just Communists. A lot of fear mongering.

Here is Liam demonstrating the functionality of his bunny hat.

And the letter Rep. Joaquin Castro wrote for him to have for when he’s bigger and can understand it.

It is easier to change to a single Weber carburetor simply because there are fewer and fewer white haired mechanics who can properly balance, and adjust the mixture (lean/rich) on two or three SUs. I can, but I have a pair of Webers that I have yet to install on my MGA. Maybe someday when the SUs are no longer serviceable... My MGTA would look stupid with Webers.

And lest someone thinks overstaying the visa waiver program 90 days is a problem, yes, the person overstaying can be deported (and really has no defense to it as an agreement to accept deportation and leave on request is part of the VWP), but there is an exception to the marriage visa program which permits those who entered this country legally (even if they did overstay) to file for a marriage green card while remaining in the US; I have had more than a half dozen clients who got their green card this way. It's the way the law is structured, presumably because Congress values established families remaining in the country. It makes little sense that he is detained because the filing of the petition grants him the right to remain while it is pending, and the work authorization can be obtained by applying for it. As an alien, ICE has some jurisdiction over him, but clearly he is entitled to due process (something the pumpkin in chief and his handlers and minions do not want).

Or to put it another way, if he's going to play by the government's rules, it behooves the government to play by those same rules too.
