I remember when Obama was elected that someone over at the old CSB said that the fact that he is black will make him much more likely to be assassinated.

I think I may have been the only one who disagreed with that idea.

Does anybody have a changed opinion on the subject - or do most of you still believe he is in more danger of being killed than any other President has been?

(not in more danger than the President's that were assassinated, of course... :D )

I disagreed with that as well, Joe....

I don't believe for a moment that the number of sickos who would want to take out Obama is any greater than the number that would like to have offed George W. Bush.

That was me, based on the four that you have had killed in office, and the some two dozen failed or partially successful attempts. I am surprised that there has not been a major threat, and think the likely hood of him being assassinated has receded.

Not so much whi'e Quale did/does (I have no Idea I havn't heard from him lately) have the fondness for the taste of toejam he didn't have half the experience or the ability to rationally lay out the arguments Biden does.

Biden is an excelent choice for the job. But not the promotion.

He's important enough so he can really accomplish things but not so important that he can't be marginalized.

If you wanted to put an equivelent republican to Biden as I said before it would most likey be Newt. Intellegent and able to thoughtfully explain his policy positions. But would be an unmitigated disaster if he were to become president.
