Zimbabwe's president, the infamously antigay Robert Mugabe, says any suggestion that aid to his country be tied to whether it allows gay rights is "stupid" and "Satanic."
Mugabe was reacting to British Prime Minister David Cameron, who said countries should “adhere to proper human rights,” including the rights of LGBT individuals, before deserving foreign aid. In the coming years, more than $100 million in aid to Zimbabwe from Britain had been proposed, according to the Telegraph.
So donor countries can be seen as either following Cameron's lead or giving in to Mugabe. And African countries can be seen as either for human rights or allying themselves with Mugabe.
Somehow I think most of them will see their LGBT citizens as the lesser evil...

So the "civilized" world proposes to punish Zimbabwe (and its innocent people) for voicing pretty much the same revulsion toward toward sexual perverts that the "civilized" world voiced (through its applicable laws) 50 years ago.
To quote a long-dead cigarette commercial, "You've come a long way, baby."
Yep. Just like they would punish countries where it is acceptable to kill women found in adultery which the "civilized" world voiced (through routinely acquitting husbands who did so) 50 years ago.
The world has turned. Keep up, or fall off.
