More people than we think have been trolling here

It’s a well-known fact that liberals are more tolerant than conservatives or moderates. Superior liberal tolerance is such a fact that they will scream at you if you dare to disagree or debate them, demand that your advertisers bail on you, and pressure the FCC to get you banned from the airwaves

And it apears Conservatives are the most open minded as well

Of course, that conservatives would be blocked/unfriended more often because they were more likely to express the above enumerated opinions like complete assholes isn't something that would occur to you.

Well there you go, point proven.
Thanks Scooter!

If you are too stupid to read what I actually wrote, I guess.

Scooter, perhaps calling those whose views are conservative 'assholes' and 'stupid' is not the best way to present your argument.

I do not think all conservatives are assholes, only that there are more of them.
And I only called one conservative stupid.

There are probably twice as many conservative assholes as there are liberal assholes for the good and simple reason that polls have shown consistently for more than 20 years that about twice as many people identify themselves as conservatives as identify themselves as liberals, but I have seen no evidence whatsoever that as a percentage of the group, there's any significant difference in the number of assholes...
(The same thing is true of stupidity; stupid conservatives and stupid liberals just happen to frequently be stupid about different things, and the impression is sometimes given in the liberal media that a higher percentage of conservatives are stupid because the things that stupid conservatives are stupid about...like "Obama is a Muslim"... tend to get polled much more frequently than the things stupid liberals are stupid about..like "911 was an inside job"...)
One difference I have noticed in my personal experience, which I have commented on before, is that a much higher percentage of conservative assholes seem to be willing to admit to their assholery than are liberal assholes...
I'm perfectly wiling to admit that I am fully capable of being asshole...(I suspect that if Dave were pressed on the point, he probably would too.)
But many liberal assholes seem completely blind to their assholish ways, and many other non-asshole liberals seem blind to the assholism of liberal assholes as well...(most non-asshole conservatives readily concede the presence of assholes in their ranks)
As an example of a liberal asshole totally oblivious to his assholic behavior on this board, we have of course, rubato...
A bigger asshole you couldn't hope to meet, but he has somehow managed to delude himself that he is caring and sweet natured soul, filled with the goodness of 'social conscience"...

Very good points LJ.
I will admit that I enjoy making assholic comments on here sometimes, stirring the pot as it were.
And I give Scooter credit that he has admitted the same in the past.
Rube on the otherhand seems fully oblivious

Wow, we actually can agree that we are all assholes.
Sounds like progress

I got a question for you Jim: How many times have you heard of a liberal guest speaker being attacked or forced off the campus a conservative university by conservative student?
I have to a agree Lib1; it does appear to me that conservatives are more tolerant at least to quest speakers.

You may have a point there lib...
Off hand, I can't think of a one, though there aren't that many conservative universities, and I have no idea how often liberals are invited to speak at them....
On the other hand, conservative speakers being subjected to being shouted down and sometimes physically assaulted at college speaking venues happens fairly regularly...
Come to think of it, even when Obama makes public speeches, the ones who disrupt them also tend to be lefites...
And this is usually the case at congressional hearings as well...

Of course, anyone who was honest about what the study really found might look to its actual conclusions:
How SNS users respond when their friends post political material with which they disagree
We asked those whose friends post political material what they do when they disagree. Some 66% of these SNS users said they usually ignore the material they objected to and 28% said they usually respond with a comment or post of their own. And 5% said it depends on the circumstances.
Interestingly enough, there were no differences in these responses among party partisans or different ideological groups. All were equally likely to say they usually ignore the posts or respond to them.
Negative reactions to users’ posts
Some 37% of SNS users who exchange material about politics on the sites have gotten strong negative reactions when they posted political material and 63% said they have never experienced such reactions. Interestingly enough, there is no notable variance across the political spectrum on this question: Republicans, Democrats, liberals, and conservatives among SNS users have experienced the same level of challenge from their SNS friends.
But where's the sport in that?

What this tells me is that conservatives are more likely to group up with other conservatives and thus have less to argue about.
