I have posted below excerpts from a recent column by Ann Coulter. If you choose to comment or rebut, do yourself a favor and try to address the substance of her remarks. No one needs to be reminded that Liberals loathe her and everything she says.

The basic thesis is that the Democrat Party has for many years embarked on a number of policy initiatives that are intended to maximize the number of people who are dependent on government, in order to form a permanent majority. Although she doesn't mention government employees, whose support has been steadily purchased with billions of taxpayer dollars (and promises of infinitely more when they retire), or union workers, who are largely dependent on favorable regulations and regulators to keep their movement alive, they remain part of the teat-sucking mix.

While conservatives have been formulating carefully constructed arguments, liberals have been playing a long-term game to change the demographics of America to get an electorate more to their liking.

They will do incalculable damage to the nation and to individual citizens, but Democrats will have an unbeatable majority. Just like California, the United States is on its way to becoming a Third World, one-party state.

Teddy Kennedy's 1965 Immigration Act was expressly designed to change the ethnic composition of America to make it more like Nigeria, considered more susceptible to liberal demagogues.

Since 1965, instead of taking immigrants that replicate the country's existing ethnic mix, we've been admitting mostly immigrants from the Third World. At the same time, people from the countries that sent immigrants to this country for its first several centuries have been barred.

Eighty-five percent of immigrants now come from "developing countries."

The "browning of America" is not a natural process. It's been artificially imposed by Democrats who are confident of their abilities to turn Third World immigrants into government [dependents and] patrons.

It's worked. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, 57 percent of all immigrant households in the U.S. get cash, Medicaid, housing or food benefits from the government -- compared with 39 percent of native households. The highest rates are for immigrants from the Dominican Republic (82 percent), Mexico and Guatemala (tied at 75 percent).

Isn't the idea to get immigrants with special skills? If you can't even get a job, by definition, you do not have a special skill. Other than voting Democrat.

There's a strange asymmetry in how this matter can be discussed. Liberals and ethnic activists boast about how America would be better if it were more Latino, but no one else is allowed to say, "We like the ethnic mix as it is."

That would be racist. By now no one even tries to disagree.

Liberals' other plan to expand the Democratic rolls has been to destroy the family.

Every time someone gets a divorce, Democrats think: We got a new Democratic voter! Every time a child is born out of wedlock: We got a new Democratic voter! And if the woman has an abortion -- we got a new Democratic voter!

According to recent polls, Obama has a negative job approval rating of 45 to 49 percent. The reason the polls are tied between Obama and Romney is that single women support Obama by a 2-to-1 margin. The Democrats' siren song to single women is: Don't worry, the government will [take the place of] your husband.

Our prisons are overflowing with the results of the Democrats' experiment of subsidizing illegitimacy. Children raised by a single mothers commit 72 percent of juvenile murders, 60 percent of rapes, have 70 percent of teenaged births, commit 70 percent of suicides and are 70 percent of high school dropouts.

Controlling for socioeconomic status, race and place of residence, the strongest predictor of whether a person will end up in prison is being raised by a single parent. (The second strongest predictor is having a tattoo.)

A 1990 study by the Progressive Policy Institute showed that after controlling for single motherhood, the difference in black and white crime disappeared.

Human beings in God's image are being born into ruined lives at rates that boggle the mind. Illegitimate children are never given a chance, their lives destroyed by this social pathology. And Democrats say: More Democratic voters!

Throw in felons voting, and the Democrats have an unbeatable majority.

Finally, it is ludicrous to assume that all hispanic/latino valuess are the same and will vote as a group. Indeed, many are religious (RC or pentacostals predominating) and strong supporters of the fabled "family values" agenda the repubs trumpets (and tries to sell to them).

Face it, it's not democratic voters she's bitching about, it's those damn brown people. Just as people in the early 20th century bitched about many of our grandparents/great grandparents.

Nigeria, susceptible to liberal demagogues? Has she seen the governments elected in Nigeria in the past 40 years? Oh yeah, when I hear the words "bastion of liberalism" the first country that comes to mind is Nigeria.

Hogwash. No one has passed any law saying that people from the U.K., Norway, Sweden, Germany, etc. cannot immigrate to the U.S. Coulter conveniently ignores the fact that there are no longer millions of people in those countries wanting to come to the U.S., (a) because they are better off at home, and (b) because the only reason any of them came in the first place was the availability of free land and the need for unskilled labour, neither of which is in play anymore. Russian Jews (not sure whether Coulter would have considered them "desirable" immigrants or not) are no longer being persecuted by the millions, and those who believe they are will now choose to go to Israel rather than the U.S.

Yes, and...? I would venture that 85% of people seeking to migrate anywhere come from developing countries. Is it supposed to shock us that the U.S. numbers are in line with that?

Let's assume these numbers are true, for the sake of argument. The Dominican Republic, Mexico and Guatamala are among the most right wing countries in the western hemisphere. If Democrats were attempting to lure them to shore up their base, they failed miserably.

Well no, actually, there are plenty of immigrants who were selected for their special skills and who cannot find employment (at least in their chosen field) until they are able to fulfill the licensing requirements of the professional bodies they report to.

If Democrats are trying to take advantage of illegitimacy, then why are they also trying to improve sex education and access to contraceptives and abortions, methods that are known to reduce the rate of illegitimacy?

And why are the Republicans against sex education and access to contraceptives and abortions? It almost seems like one party is hoping to capitalize on illegitimacy, but it's not the Democrats.

Let's assume these numbers are true, for the sake of argument.

The numbers very likely aren't true, or have been spun so much that they don't match up with reality anymore. The Center for Immigration Studies is an anti-immigration group set up to paint immigration in the worst possible light. And it is part of a network of anti-immigration groups, most of which were set up by John Tanton.

Mr. Tanton is another racist concern troll, who is also 'concerned' about how many non-whites are coming into this country.

What percentage of people on welfare are caucasian Americans, dgs? (Hint: the majority, and most of them live in rural/suburban settings, not the 'inner city'.)

What percentage of children raised by divorced or unmarried parents of upper income levels end up in prison, dgs? (I'm not going to do the research for you, too busy working - but I'm guessing that the issue most related to crime and incarceration is poverty, not single parenting or divorce.)

Ann Coulter is famous for either directly lying, ignoring facts, and treating her readers like idiots.

First of all she claims that the demographics of immigration are due to democratic policies but ignores the fact that from 1980 to the present 2 out of 3 years the WH was controlled by Republicans and we have had Republican congresses for most of the time from 1995 to the present. So the claim that immigration demographics are a product of Democratic policy is merely stupid.

And as to:

Except that out of wedlock births and divorce are more common, by a huge margin, in Conservative States and are the direct effect of conservative policies. Liberals delay marriage and starting families until they are financially secure and more emotionally mature and thus have very low divorce rates and low rates of single parent households. Conservatives deprive their daughters of knowledge of contraception and thus have more 'shotgun' weddings followed by divorces.:

Single parents are the products of Conservative governments. Overwhelmingly.

Anne Coulter does not even try to make sense. She writes for stupid people who like being stupid.
