Nihilism: Rejection of all distinctions in moral or religious value and a willingness to repudiate all previous theories of morality or religious belief.

Let's see...Mitt Romney is a lifetime Mormon, served as a Bishop for a decade or so, and remains a Mormon in good standing. He has had no trace of any sort of immorality associated with himself or anyone connected to him.

He has continuously and emphatically stated his personal opposition to abortion on moral grounds. This has never changed.

The only relevant question is whether he considers that, as a matter of public policy, the State should be able to prevent private citizens from acting in a way that is contrary to his own, personal views on abortion. One could argue that this is not a "moral" question at all, but simply a matter of one's theory of government as it relates to "natural law."

It is alleged that there were times when he was either running for, or acting as, governor of the Peoples' Republic of Massachusetts - where the "right" of women to kill their babies in the womb is a matter of axiomatic moral certitude - he said that he supported the existence of that right. Then later, when it became politically expedient, he changed his position to say that the State ought to have the right to intervene in this choice, at least to the extent hinted at in Roe v. Wade.

And this is what someone characterizes as "nihilism"? What an idiot.

I wonder...When Our Beloved President was running for President, he stated loudly and emphatically that he supported "traditional marriage" - which is of necessity to say that he DID NOT SUPPORT the same-sex version thereof. Then after he was in office for a few years and realized that nobody who supports "traditional marriage" would ever vote for him anyway, he "came out" in favor of "gay marriage."

Was that an example of nihilism? The question of whether the State ought to sanction relationships that are essentially characterized by sodomy is certainly a moral one.

Before you answer, consider that OBP has always characterized himself as a "Christian," and his religious and moral mentor (The Rev. J.W.) has often spoken violently against "gay marriage." Is Barry a "nihilist"?

The reason that rube doesn't know the commonly understood definition of so many words and phrases, is because he relies upon the "definitions" provided by others who don't know them either....

Properly refers to the vast majority of politicians...(well, most would probably draw the line at murder; at least if they thought they might get caught...)

But in any event, it has nothing whatsoever to do with "nihilism"...

When the sources of information that you rely upon as your pipeline to reality don't know what they're talking about, it logically follows that you won't either....
