The Day They Pulled The Plug On CarTalk Rant 'n Rave BBS

Post by dales »

Can be found here linky

It's an archive site from June 16, 2002.....Just as the old CarTalk BBS kicked a group of us off and some of us migrated to the Wisconsin Public Radio BBS. I'm sure you'll recognize a few names. Scroll down about 13 topics.

Bosco, Paddy02, Sue U, rubato...etc...what was fun about this site was that one could post under a multitude of various handles, leave it to say hillarity ensued.

Dales I edited this due to the wide ass link you posted - hope you don't mind. Daisy xx

That was a nice little trip down memory lane Dale...thanks for posting that...

I believe I had stopped posting at the Cafe Darte at least year before it finally expired because I got fed up with the the bizarro editing being done by the admins....

Long thoughtful posts on serious subjects would get yanked while juvenile crap like "Here kitty kitty...made you look!" would get posted over and over and never get removed....

The place really started to go to hell when John was replaced by some chick who should have been working the drive-thru window at Jack-In-The-Box.....

I noticed there were posts from before 9/11.

I posted there a couple times but I think I was at CSB then.

Faldage.... there's a name to conjure with. Always one of my favourites. I can't remember how long WDYK? lasted before they closed that door as well. I think I was hanging out at Smitty's about then.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Dales--thanks for that--a lot of familiar names I hadn't thought about for a long time. I, like Jim, left CD early over the editing/censoring of posts a while before, but it was fun while it lasted.
