Went to the Boot Sale - bought something for the dog, something for my hubby and nothing for me

as it was the first one of the season the queues to get in were incredible, never seen it that busy in 10 years even on a bank holiday. We also managed to get round the whole thing whereas later in the season we'll undoubtedly cut off half way round - I must have walked miles and miles
One of the things I was thinking I'd miss most when my son moved out was losing my bootsale companion as hubby hates bootsales and when he can be
blackmailed threatened prevailed upon to come with me treats it like a yomp across the Falklands

I do often go on my own but it's always nicer with a bit of likeminded company. Luckily my daughter-in-law-to-be likes bootsales too so we fell into a routine of them coming over with me at least once a month last year and we've already decided to go earlier next Sunday so looks like I'll have the pleasure of their company again this year.
I was also right about the flipping BBQ

came up here alerted by the sounds of my girls squeaking (guinea pigs) to find the room full of smoke stinking of lighter fluid and charcoal I know they can't help the wind direction but they can bloody well help where they site the bloody grill and move it away from the house where the smoke isn't going to funnel up into my open windows.
