Perhaps if you think further, or even slightly begin, you will discover a way of illustrating your disapproval of their behavior which makes some logical sense, an apposite one. Because this one makes as much sense as saying they don't deserve ice cream trucks or hot food.

How many times have you posted stories about which you make comments that immigrants in the UK are screwing the system and don't belong there? To me it seems like every week, just about. Meanwhile, we all know that the majority of immigrants are law-abiding, etc. and don't screw the system. Thus, your posts can be seen as suggesting that it's the people themselves you object to.

Getting back to the opening post, I think the EMT's should have an armed officer travel with them. Gun vs rock? I know who wins that one.

And if not, maybe one of the original rock throwers who happens to fall off a roof while doing a job some years later, I hope some other group of rock throwers are there to prevent the original rock thrower from getting treatment. Karma and all that.

Three arrested for attack on EMS workers in downtown Detroit



DETROIT (WXYZ) - "There was information that there was fighting on the scene and that information never made it to the medics," said Joseph Barney who represents Detroit EMS workers under the Police Officers Association of Michigan.

The breakdown in the Detroit Fire Department's dispatching communication is being blamed for two medics rushing into a situation to help someone, without the presence of police, and being assaulted by three people just outside The Fillmore in downtown Detroit last Sunday night.

"We're there to help people," said Barney. "We're unarmed."

For safety reasons, if EMS workers arrive at a location before police and they've been notified that there is fighting going on, or other potentially dangerous circumstances are present, they will wait nearby for police officers to arrive.

But Sunday night, dispatch did not alert two medics, a man and a woman, that callers reported fighting on Woodward Avenue near Elizabeth.

They were responding to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

When the two medics arrived, they were assaulted by a man and two women in the crowd.

We're told Detroit Police arrived within a few minutes and arrested the three people identified by the medics.

The two medics were not seriously hurt, according to Barney.

It's unclear why dispatch failed to tell the medics the information about the reported fighting. But city officials say dispatchers have been reminded how vital the information is to responding units.

We're also told that Detroit Fire Department officials will be working to make sure the necessary information is also displayed for the medics on the computers in their rigs and in their quarters.
