US air strikes kill several Doctors Without Borders staff and patients - including children - and injure dozens more in Afghanistan.

Doctors Without Borders had informed US military/NATO officials and Taliban officials of the exact location of the civilian hospital facility, and radioed during the air strikes, which nonetheless continued.
Collateral damage? Or war crime?
With all the fancy targeting technology the military has these days, it's hard to grasp how this is excusable.

Re: Collateral Damage
Tragic. I'll wait for the facts to come out, but it is absurd to even suggest this was intentional. What possible reason would there be to target the hospital?

Re: Collateral Damage
Absolutely tragic; what more can be said? Like you (and everyone else), LR, I'll wait for the investigation(s) before deciding...but even without actual intent, there is such a thing as "criminal negligence" isn't there?

I agree with Long Run and Econo...
We need to await more information before reaching definite conclusions...
It certainly makes no sense that this would have been deliberate...
It looks like a tragic breakdown in communication, somewhere in the process...
A full investigation is in order.
