Just reading the new posts in this thread.

I like loCA, so I hope she won't feel attacked when I suggest that editing the content (and thus meaning) of posts after they've been responded to is, in fact, poor form.

Follow up with another post, if you like, to clarify your thinking. There is no shame in evolving thinking on any issue.

I never edit posts except to correct spelling or add something, in which case I edit with eta: [new content]. I think that's good form.

I hope you understand why folks are disappointed. I would also suggest those engaging you in debate quote your post to which they are responding in future, until they can be sure this won't happen again.

One of the most unfortunate things about the dust up over this is that it has given that blowhard moron Quad at the CSB something to blow completely out of proportion and try to make it look as though everyone over here is constantly changing the meanings of their posts....

Well I'll give Quaddy's views the depth of thought and respect they deserve....

The beauty of the ignore button is not having to read posts thus not feeling it necessary to respond to something that then could be changed on a whim.

Ahhhhhhhh.

Very much agree, it's great for the blood pressure...

No prob BSG, as stated it was unintentional; you and most people are aware that that's not a regular pattern of behavior of mine.

Did I miss it, or has no one noted the irony that among the grievances that spawned Plan B, was the draconian step to limit the time available to editing one’s posts at the CSB?

So we have unlimited editing and damned proud of as long as no one uses it.

Or is there something else I missed.
A sufficiently copious dose of bombast drenched in verbose writing is lethal to the truth.

It didn't end up being a big thing. I commented on it at the time because I noticed it from 2 or 3 posters in fairly quick succession.

Simple Machines Forums would give you a warning in red if you were composing a message and someone else posted before you hit preview or submit. This platform doesn't. The new posts show up if you preview but you aren't prompted in any way to notice them. It just took some getting used to.
