70 PAKISTANIS KILLED IN EASTER SUNDAY BOMBING
Jamaat-Ul-Ahrar, a Taliban splinter group with allegiance to IS, has claimed responsibility for a mass suicide bombing conducted in the children's area of a park in Lahore, Pakistan. A spokesperson for the group claims that their target was the Christian holiday of Easter (although most of the victims are non-Christians) as a direct challenge to the government. It is believed that this act of terrorism is a response to the execution of Mumtaz Qadri, who assassinated a governor publicly supporting Asia Bibi (a prominent persecuted Christian woman).
According to Reuters, 29 of the 70 killed in the bombing were children. Roughly 300 more were injured by the blast.
