OMG! walmart is the anti-Christ.
OMG! walmart is the anti-Christ.
or something like that. This was in my youtube suggestions. I watched it and thought of Steve.
OMG! Walmart* is the anti-Christ
OMG -- eerie and spooky. This has all the earmarking of another Roswell. I wouldn't be surprised to find a fully functioning Walmart* in Area 51.

In words of small syllables — What a crock of shit!!
It is just amazing how someone can make a YouTube video full of a batch of questionable hypotheses that are backed up by unfounded, off-the-west-wall "proofs" and it will find a receptive audience among the conspiracy theorists, the believers in a shadow government, the just plain anti-government morons, and all the other assorted kooks, flakes, and nuts out there.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

You can be absolutely, positively sure that something is *REALLY* true when Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, and Albert Einstein all agree:

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Most of that link is pure BS, but there is a grain of truth in the fact that Wal*Mart has closed hundreds of stores across the country. Some were near me. One of those, had been open less than two years. It's in a suburban town of about 8,000. When that store opened, it caused the closing of the only other grocery store in town which also contained the only pharmacy. Now they have neither. The only time I was in that Wal*Mart Neighborhood Market, there was no parking available at 2:00 PM on a weekday. I had to park on the grass by the major intersection. Business was that good. Now the nearest grocery store is eight miles away on county roads, although they do have a mom & pop convenience store with gasoline in town.
There were other Wal*Marts in my area that closed, but I don't know what their productivity was. One of those was directly across the street from a major chain store "stop and rob" which closed the same week. It always appeared very busy too. Now residents of that neighborhood have to go at least two miles across town to buy food or gas.
I have yet to see a Wal*Mart surrounded by razor wire, but I can understand why some might be, just to keep out intruders.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

I recall that WM closed all the neighborhood market stores last year.

They closed some of the neighborhood stores. They closed some of their other stores. Kmart closed many more of their stores. I suspect that the only conspiracy afoot is to make money.
Steve was a lover of conspiracy that some of us posted with on another board that is now dead. The board is dead that is, not sure about Steve.

They closed a couple of neighborhood stores here recently. They were losers from the start -- poor real estate selection (hard in-out and lots of competition nearby) -- the few times I was in, there were never more than a handful of shoppers. The workers seemed nice enough, but unlikely to get a job at any Safeway/Kroger store, let alone nicer stores.
