The planet will be lovely once again when the plague of Homo sapiens has been purged.
Plague?

I happen to like my fellow human beings.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I can't get used to this lifestyle...! 8-)

I recall seeing that many evergreens (most common being the white and lodgepole pines, IIRC) do depend on fire to release their seeds from cones.

And you can use the sap to flavor ice cream.

What, you mean to tell me you've never had a pine cone?

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Pine nuts are my favorite! Very expensive, though . . .

True, but I remember catching them as they twirled to the ground from the tree, breaking open the shell and having a truly natural snack. Which experience caused me to be surprised by BB's and Jarl's understanding that certain trees required fire to have their cones release the nuts, but there is plenty of authority online to support that. Glad to learn something new and it's only Monday!

I think a fair number of people have you on their "ignore" list, wes, so you're not even that.

No way is wes as useful as chopped liver.
