looks like Plymouth got rocked....

...and the next storm is taking shape to rock Plymouth again, but worse.

if the next storm takes shape off of cape cod bay, as predicted, they will get one helluva storm.

the ocean effect snow will be blowing straight at The Rock..., or so it appears now.

(I worked at a jobsite once with a Jamaican guy who had never seen snow. it started snowing hard and he said...., "my god , mon, it s raining white!!!)

I'm not gloating. We've had so much rain in the past 2-3 weeks that it's far from amusing. A downpour began (as forecast) about ten minutes ago and the weather persons advise it's going to rain all week, finally letting up next Friday.

Farmers and lake resort owners are delighted (for the moment). But we live nowhere and it's 1km to a tar road. Doesn't sound like much until you try to drive it. A short level bit to start isn't too bad. But then we turn right and slide down into what is normally a dry ditch under a (thank goodness) decently wide concrete pad over a culvert. But then it goes to hell. Nothing but mud and no grip, uphill with huge puddles filling holes made by spinning wheels from the past two weeks. We've not been stuck yet but we have had to wait it out for a day or so - to dry a bit and let some others make some ruts that might hold the Tucson on the "road" rather than sliding sideways off it. And it's covered in mud... getting into the sills, caking up the arches, and you just have to hope you don't need to get out. No point washing it off in town - you gotta come home and it's worse going down that hill.

Our first big program with kids from three different youth homes - 50 or so of 'em - is due to kick-off tomorrow and if it's thunder and lightning, it's a no-go.

Yesterday was more like what LI winter weather should be.
32F with rain, snow, sleet and hail all at the same time.
I cleaned/rearranged/chucked stuff from my bedroom closet.
Getting ready to redo the bedroom. New floors, new furniture, new paint.
Got the next few weekends of work all planned out.
