It wasn't a non-event, but it was a pretty mild storm, as Nor'easters can go around here.

I agree, we had a lot of wind and around 16 inches of snow, but no power outages (and my cable internet access only went out for about an hour); I've seen far worse.

This was the "slush-storm". Got a few inches then changed to rain. Had to use the tractor with the plow to clear the driveway. The driveway was flooding with water going in to the garage as the plow came through early and created a snow dam at the end of the driveway. cleared it all away and all was good.
Definately a non event here. West of us got more snow.

Heading up to Pa this weekend for some snowmobiling. My sister texted me yesterday (she lives in Forest City Pa) about 11am and said they already had 2 feet of snow and it was still coming down heavy. Typically a nor'easter dumps much snow here and much less there. This one was the opposite. wooo hoooo!!!!!! :ok

ETA
Work closed yesterday. Crazy message on the call in number though. It said "xxx is closed today. Call back around 8:30 am to see if we are having a delayed opening." :shrug

Maybe next time the brain-dead broad in the white stocking hat will put down that goddammed iPhone and start paying attention to what's going on around her.

But I really, really doubt it......

And a Rashomon effect: (Advance to 1:05)

I don't see how this is a Rashomon effect.  Both vids show a train coming through a drift of snow at a not-insignificant speed, spraying the snow everywhere.  The second one was taken a little further down the platform (you can still see the nitwit in the stocking hat, if you look for her) and something like ten-fifteen feet back from the edge of the platform.  And they both show this woman, standing right next to the yellow 'safety' line (maybe two feet from the edge of the platform?) and totally engrossed in her smartphone until roughly 0.5 seconds before the tsunami of snow overwhelms her.

If I feel sorry for anyone, it's the station attendant/work crew who did such a great job of clearing the platform itself only to see the train take them right back to square one.

31" of snow in Pa. from Stella. Me, my daughter and her dog (who's name happens to be "Stella") are heading up there tonight for a weekend of snowmobiling.
Might be a problem on some lakes though. Some had open water last weekend but have snow cover now. Extra caution needed. Hopefully we can find trails around the lakes rather than risk it.

Tobyhanna State Park in the Poconos always have great snowmobiling trails. You might want to check them out.

Thanks for that. The poconos are due south of us and not that far.

Nice thing about where we are (Beach Lake Pa.) is walking out the back door and being able to ride all over. No towing of the machine anywhere in order to ride.
Right behind us it hundreds of acres owned by the Welcome lake rod and gun club which butts up against PA state game land. That all makes it down to the delaware river where we can ride along the tracks for miles on end. that's west and a little south. Heading north there are many trails to take that the local snowmobile club has obtained permission to ride in/on.

Proud member of the Penn-York Sno-Seekers club.
