Cornwall College is opening a new classroom on a beach in Newquay.
The classroom, which has Atlantic views on Tolcarne Beach, will be used by students on the college's surf science and technology foundation degree.
It will also host some lessons for students on its marine conservation and ecology courses.
The college said the building, a former surfing shop, would provide a "highly relevant" teaching location, as well as a good base for fieldwork.
Andrew Smart, head of Cornwall College Newquay, said: "The opening of the new classroom at Tolcarne is an excellent opportunity for students to become truly immersed in the courses they are studying."

Hardly as dramatic, but below is the specifically designed outdoor classroom (made from local stone) at my law school. You can't see the view from this angle, but it faces the White River, and a bunch of riffles and pools. Just lovely, really!
