I almost never use FacePlace anymore, largely due to their horrid policies concerning advertising and use of personal info; Twister is at least aware that it is a virtual hellscape, and there are some interesting people with some good jokes, plus it's got a lot of doggie videos. Also, the @NJgov account will occasionally make you proud to be a Jerseyite (although they have sided with the faction that claims the existence of a "Central Jersey," which is clearly a hoax).
I never saw the value of Twitter, but it clearly has value to a lot of people since it played a key role in getting someone elected president.
There is a lot not to like about how Facebook does business, but their basic format allows a lot of people to stay connected which is why so many of us use it despite its drawbacks. With respect to the advertising, I don't think I've clicked on a FB ad in years and rarely even notice them.
The original post in this thread seems to be friends having a laugh, as opposed to actually asking a question. But maybe I'm the moron then?
