For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Absofuckinglutely no. Especially not in court. I'm sure the judge thought "It's not for a jury, it's not evidence, it's only meant for me in the sentencing phase," but I am still shocked he accepted this form of a "victim impact statement." A decedent cannot make a statement; by definition the "impact" on him was his demise. His survivors can tell the court what impact the crime had on *them,* which is the supposed purpose of the statement. And for the record, I think the victim impact statement is generally a wrongheaded thing to begin with.

I sure wouldn't want someone creating an image that shows me forgiving someone for killing me.

I don't like watching victim impact statements. I guess they're some kind of therapy for families and friends of victims but if they're going to allow something like that, people should be allowed to throw things like rotten tomatoes at the convicted person.

Hell to the no!!!

This takes the concept of 'putting words in someone's mouth' to a level so low it might as well be underwater alongside the RMS Titanic.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Here's a different judge with a different reaction to AI in the courtroom:

Oh you do NOT want to fuck with the First Department of the NY App. Div. That is a serious bench. I highly doubt the appeal will go his way.
