Insurrection in Los Angeles

There is an ongoing Insurrection in Los Angeles. Unlike the so-called Insurrection at the Capitol, this one involves firebombs, targeted property destruction, as well as firebombs used against police officers. It also represents a direct challenge to the national government's authority to determine who is allowed in the country and to remove those without legal permission. The opposition seeks to limit the government's ability to control entry and track individuals within the nation. If successful, this effort could destabilize the country. After all, without secure borders, a nation ceases to exist as a sovereign entity and instead becomes a territory open to colonization. Let's see what unfolds.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

I think this 'Insurrection' you are describing is in Los Angeles, California. There is NO 'flood of foreigners' coming into LA. The ICE carefully disguised agents there have a hard time finding enough people they can incarcerate to fill a school bus. "No legal right to be here' has too frequently not been established for those detained by ICE. ICE was rounding up people ready to work and pay taxes, not terrorists hiding in potato cellars while they made bombs.

But most important, the National Guard troops that have been deployed have NOT been trained to fulfill the mission for which the CinC has assigned them in the deployment orders.

These 'sanctuary cities' have not granted 'sanctuary' as traditionally defined to any one. "Sanctuary Cities" are local governments which have told the feds 'we are not agents of Homeland Security. If you want us to do the work that is the responsibility of your agency, give us the money and we will do it. We have billed you for this work in the past and you don't pay the bills." Ice can't even find the mass invasion of foreigners sent to our borders after release from prisons and insane asylums.

Colonize? Please; that BS has been used to demonize every immigrant coming to the US. Typical type of thing to inflame the public--a Trump specialty.
We have a right to decide who can come into the country and who cannot, as well as to remove any guests that don't act like guests.
And who is arguing that; but we are a society who extol the right to speak freely and to protest, and the US, at least the US I want to live in, should not be removing people who dare to speak out about injustice. But such is the mentality of Trump et al.--they don't want to deal with dissent. The man is a class A asshole.

I worry about another Kent State. Meade I know you used to live in that area. When it happened I was an ocean away and it was literally two days before my finals. I had several American friends who were doing their best to avoid the draft.

25-ish years ago I was living in Buffalo and had a client in Akron OH. On the way I stopped off at Kent which is 30 minutes away. Where the four students were killed there is a memorial on the ground and there are still (or were) bullet marks on a sculpture on the grounds. It was April when I was there so the daffodils were out - it didn't take much to imagine that awful day in 1970.

The situation in Los Angeles is an insurrection, a mini war disguised as a protest challenging the right of the United States government and the American people to decide who can enter and stay in the country.

There are individuals in Southern California who want to break away and join Mexico. Some of them may have lived here for years and may even be American citizens, but their loyalty remains with Mexico. I cannot say how many people fall into this category, but as the Mexican population in Southern California increases, their numbers will likely rise. There is always a tipping point—it may be closer than you think.

However, what remains essential is maintaining the country's right to decide who can enter and who can stay. Without this control, a disbanded and disarmed army could enter the country, and reorganize, and arm itself in secret. I think that might be something that you would actually approve of for some reason beyond me

where do you come up with this? Do you have the same feeling about every other immigrant group who came here or is it just Mexicans? and since when is protest insurrection? when a few people throw rock or shoot off fireworks?

Mexico is unique in that it is the only immigrant nation to have lost territory to the US through war in the 1800s. At that time, if a country lost a war, it had to make concessions to regain its independence—that was the standard practice. However, many Mexicans still remember that war and the lands lost as a result. Some consider those territories stolen, and some even view them as still part of Mexico, at least morally. Because of this, they believe they have a right to enter without restrictions, making Mexico distinct from other nations. As Mexico grows stronger over the next century, this historical memory may contribute to tensions between Mexico and the United States and even possibly war.

Don't be silly—you would need a minefield, dragon’s teeth, and a ditch, as well as Anti-aircraft capabilities. A wall is effective for regulating and controlling the flow of people, but not very effective against tanks and infantry. But don’t worry—history has proven that Americans are not a proactive people; they don’t worry about things that are likely to happen, only about things after disaster strikes.

I see examples of it all around me—people building houses on concrete slabs right on the ground, despite living in a swamp. Obviously, they’ve never been to the courthouse or looked at a flood zone map to see that their homes are likely to be flooded within the next ten years. It’s not just Southerners—it’s all Americans. Media outlets outside California and social media users have been calling the entirety of Los Angeles a war zone as demonstrators and law enforcement have clashed since Friday.

Fact check: Los Angeles is a sprawling Southern California city that encompasses more than 500 square miles.

Demonstrations and skirmishes between law enforcement and protesters have largely stayed within downtown L.A.’s Civic Center, an area spanning a few city blocks that is home to courthouses, federal buildings and LAPD headquarters. Some protests have also spilled onto a stretch of the 101 Freeway near a downtown immigration detention center.

Protesters have gathered in other areas of Southern California where there have been ICE raids or the presence of ICE officials, including outside of a Pasadena hotel, in Paramount near a Home Depot and Santa Ana.

There is no emergency, widespread threat, or out of control violence in Los Angeles,” said Rick Caruso, Los Angeles real estate developer and former president of the L.A. Police Commission, on X.

I am hopeful for the hearing today to get a PI; I had a case with Judge Breyer a number of years ago and have found him to be level-headed and fair--scheduling this hearing quickly is indicative of that. IMHO, it would be ridiculous to permit this real "stunt" to continue and I hope he agrees. Il Duce has to be restrained.
