$5.59 today for Regular Unleaded. Diesel is now almost at $7.00. It's gone up $2 in 2 weeks. They're going to run into an issue with the electronic signs when it hits $10 a gallon by Easter around here. And it's going to be an issue with my company fuel card that only allows $200 a day.

Costco at Christiana, DE is $3.29 this morning. it is just under 5mi from my home. I try to manage my trips so I buy fuel there while on my way to/from someplace else.

This is the same gas station I photographed on March 10th. Price has increased about 9% (50 cents/gallon) for gasoline...

Don’t you want the price of gasoline to be high? Won’t that magically start the EV revolution?
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

Electric cars preceded gasoline vehicles. They only made a comeback after rechargeable batteries were improved.

Short answer is yes, I'd like to see the price of gasoline to be about double where it now is. In the last year or so I have driven a few thousand miles in UK and continental Europe, and cars tend to be smaller because gas/petrol is expensive. (But larger SUV-type vehicles are more and more common every time I go.). We need to start economizing now - EVs are a partial and temporary solution - and public transport has to grow to become the norm.

While I agree with you in principle, I am not so blithe as to endorse doubling the price of gas when most people have little or no access to public transportation for commuting to work and other daily necessities (in many places in the US the car is the only viable way to get anywhere you cannot walk). The solution has to be balanced or it will be strongly resisted by the people, who will elect more 'drill baby, drill" candidates.

I filled last evening at a Love's truck stop for $3.039 with a "loyalty card" that gives 10c off. Same today, but I didn't need any.

The wife and I are both driving hybrids now. Compared to 2008 I’m paying about the same per mile as I was back then (may improve as temps reuse for spring/summer if prices stabilize).

Up another 10 cents/gallon in my neighborhood; filled up just over 9 gallons last week just a couple dollars shy of $40. It was $25 for the same fill the first time I filled this tank in very early 2025.

Today it's at $3.919. An increase of more than 46% in the 60 days since Trump started his idiotic war with Iran. Isn't it today the date by which he has to ask Congress for authority to continue criming in the Persian Gulf?

Mr Avis has rather foolishly given me a BMW M3 this time. Filled up yesterday at £1.779 (I have to get premium) per litre. (Note correct spelling of litre.) Using 1 (US) gallon = 3.785 litres this is £6.734 per gallon. Using last night's forex rate $1.00 USD = £0.74 this works out at $9.10 per gallon.

And plenty of people here drive large SUV-type vehicles - it seems as if there are more every time I come. Many more electric vehicles here than in the US.

I am now spending over $50 a week for gas just in my commute alone. That's with a car that gets almost 40MPG.

But that pales in comparison to how much it costs to fill the tow truck every day. Over $100 most days, and last Friday it was over $175. I did find out that they had raised the company fuel cards limit to $300, per transaction. Not that I can it that yet, as none of the pumps allow more than 25 gallons per transaction when there's no cashier anyway (State law), which I happened to run into on Friday when I hit that $175+ "high score".
