The"State of Origin" matches start tonight (I'm in bloody work of course)
Looking forward to a bit of Rugby, and a lot of biff!!!

"I went to see the big fight, and a rugby match broke out!"

I am seriously looking forward to the first 10 minutes of the match. Then the Hatch and I will probably watch summat else. We only watch for the biff, NOT the result.

THE established wisdom is that State of Origin is at its healthiest when Queensland wins.
Once the perennial underdogs become top dogs, both states are roused: Queensland to delight in its triumph and NSW to restore its pride as rugby league's dominant state. But Queensland is now in danger of destroying the tradition of the past 30 years.
After last night's 28-24 victory in Sydney, the Maroons stand poised to win an unprecedented fifth consecutive series over the increasingly despairing Blues. Queensland may be healthy but NSW looks sick and the 68,753 primarily Blues fans who turned up on a cold, wet night left feeling decidedly queasy after watching a masterclass from Johnathan Thurston. The Maroons' midfield general created four of his team's five tries, despite carrying a shoulder injury.
The Blues went into the match confident they had found the key to dismantling the Queensland dynasty after winning the dead third match last year by aggressively dominating the Maroons forwards. But this was not the same satisfied Queensland team that sleptwalked through that dead rubber after sealing its fourth straight series win.
Bugger! Despite it being a close match, the blues still lost, and there wasn't a decent fight all match. What a let down.
